Y'all freaks believed the 2nd time would be easier?
Buckle the f*** up, quit whining and get the f*** on the back to back bus already.

The only thing I’ll acknowledge is the Dmen are probably exhausted to end games

We have two guys who are basically unplayable and everyone else is getting an increased workload

Including Schmidt having to play 2nd pair minutes and match ups

Kulikov coming back will fix one.

But even if Ekblad comes back, that’s 20 games he missed. Timing, conditioning, and those stiff knees aren’t going to be playoff ready.

Honestly the Tournament break really f***ed us

Habs fan coming in peace here

That was a phenomenal 2 games, if that wasn't playoff hockey I don't know what was!
Habs fan here in peace as well. You guys have one hell of a team and we are rebuilding. Beating you guys 4 straight feels so good but I know that we need to play our buts off to even have a chance and we trying to make the playoffs for once in what 3- 4 years? The guys are desperate and it shows. They really want it.

I'm a Leafs fan and hoping all the Leafs fans and Habs fans can come together and have a big makeout session with lots of tongue. All while laughing at all these dumb Panthers fans who don't even know what hockey is.

Whys everyone blaming jones?
He attempted the clear but it was the tards in front of the net not doing their jobs
Granted I only watched the 3rd period and if cats think the tying goal was on Jones there, that’s ridiculous. The Hab sent up a prayer that happened to be answered and it’s Jones’ fault? Haha go ahead tho.

Let’s be honest, the game should’ve been put away long before that goal. Habs had only what 9 shots since the 1st meanwhile we still can’t finish for shit.

Ending up 3rd is looking like a real possibility.

As a habs fan I was pulling my hair out on all the chances we fooked. Your guys played a very good game and its only because my guys were more desperate that we even had a chance against you. Dont get too upset on the sweep. Come playoff time all that is swept away and the real men come to play. Time will tell who the real men are ;-)

I don’t think we’re taking it easy. I think we’re all out of sorts and our defense is weak with Ekblad and Kulikov. Sucks.

I think we’ll be able to rebound at least by the time playoffs come around but I’m not liking some of the weird habits we’re getting all the sudden

I’m sorry Jones has to get that puck out. It was one on one with a Habs player and he failed to clear

How is he not responsible for it? I get the Hail Mary pass but that puck must get out.

He loses way too many puck battles and that was another one

Ignoring the fact moments before he gave up a 2 on 1 and he got bailed out my Schmidt for his piss poor decision to step up

Nope he doesn’t get a pas
Jones wasn’t outnumbered. It was one on one with Hutson and all he did was keep reaching. Gave up the line and just reaching. Really soft play

Period point blank

The likely outcome is that Habs choke and don’t make the playoffs… but if they do, that young core is going to wilt against Washington. Just the way the playoffs work.

What are you talking about? He was excellent in puck battles all night. He basically shoved one guy off the puck and into another dimension in our own end, and then caught up on the 2 on 1 and nullified that chance with a great takeaway. That play with 10 seconds left wasn't on him. If Barkov covers his man Suzuki on both the tying goal and winning goal, neither one happens. His D has been crap lately.

He was beat on the cross-crease GWG on Sunday, iirc. I don't think it's for lack of effort either. I just don't think he or our best players are playing very well right now. I kinda think Marchy looks a bit soft and is killing his share of plays. I expect he'll be a little better as he gets his legs under him and finds his role.

We had played a pretty good defensive 3rd. Not perfect but to smother a desperate and skilled team like that for so long was impressive. I think what this game came down to was us not finishing one of a half-dozen grade A to A+ chances and putting the game away earlier. They are playing well and were tough but we had the better of the play as the game went on. If we get it to 3-1, it's a different story.

Agree with comments above that we just don't have a huge margin for error with our injuries. Also a factor is Ek. I think we take for granted how important he is, despite his perceived flaws.

Ah well, on to the next one.

The first 10 minutes of the 3rd period was the most physical they played in months. Guys like Verhaege and Reino really started finishing their hits. This team does have another gear. We will see it the latest when 2 of our most physical players in MT and Kuli are back.
In the first Verhaege fumbled a puck so badly when he could have sent Barky on a breakaway or at least skate it in on a 2-on-1 himself. He'll be fine when he finds his scoring touch again - which I am completely convinced off, it's not like he doesn't have an scoring opportunities).

Meanwhile I hope we either win the division to face a wildcard team or we play TOR.
