More like Vasilevskiy. He was uncharacteristically bad that series. Not sure if he was hurt then but did have surgery to repair a disc in his back which kept him out last year early in the season.
Yup, leafs get no credit at all. Was just Vasi himself being bad when he plays the leafs.

Crazy the first series Vasi played against the leafs 2 years before that one, he only had a .897 sv%.

PS, dont look at Vasi stats against Toronto this year because it will further go against your point.
(He went 0-2-1 with a 4.85 GAA, and a .836 sv%). But yeah, it was just Vasi being off his game that one series.

Why do so many people just love to parrot the same talking points over and over again?

Do people not get bored reading it?

Have an actual discussion on a hockey forum about how the series might go? Nah I'd rather just bring up playoff records over and over again and talk about what players on my team accomplished something on another team. Or talk about the playoff run my team went on almost a decade ago and none of the players on that team are on the current team, but it is still super relevant to the discussion!

Well that was fast

I'd be interested in seeing that.

Great, I’ll start

Senators fans not getting the point that the Leafs are not the Leafs of years past. Gone are the soft Keefe and Dubas Leafs. These Leafs are going to run over the Senators and they are talking about playoff series when Matthews was the same age as Stuzle as to why we will lose lmao
One thing is true, this is not the same Leafs teams as previous years. Their fans are still terrible at trash talking tho.

Regardless, it should be a great series!

Cool, now do head to head matchup

this is going to be a fun series. Let’s see if Toronto’s star power can take over. I don’t think people realize just how good Jake Sanderson is yet. This one is a coin flip for me.

I don't know if this is a waste of time and it will just go into the void of meme's and shit posting but I will attempt to actually breakdown the series. I think the defense and goaltending on paper is mostly a wash. Ottawa prob has a better 1D...Toronto a bit better depth. Forwards, I think Toronto has more game breaking talent up front...better at generating offense at even strength then Ottawa is. But again...they have to actually do it. I do think Ottawa has a much better 3rd line. Toronto has a better PP...both teams have decidedly average penalty kills. I think a lot of this series is going to come down to whether Ottawa can generate offense at even strength and for the Leafs if their penalty kill can step up. I don't see there being many high scoring games. Coaching obviously will be a big X factor as well just have to see how that plays out.

I pretty much agree with all of this.

I don't see many high scoring games as well, but if there is a high scoring game, I suspect it will be the Leafs torching the Senators.

We don't have the same kind of firepower.

He had 3 goals in 4 games including the final and was a +3.

That's tied with McDavid and one behind MacKinnon for the tournament lead.

Why do you make stuff up? I don't get it.
He's making stuff up because he's nervous and he's desperate to prove to himself and everyone else that he's not.

If the Leafs cant over come their awful home playoff record of late, and their special teams once again go to shit in the playoffs they are doomed.

They've never go far until they figure that shit out in the playoffs. Leafs get beat in special teams like every series.

Well yeah probably not Stutzle but AM34 has gotten clamped his whole career by 2C's in the post season. Pinto will have him in his pocket probably
Noted 2C's...Barkov, Bergeron and Point. Like yes he has been stopped by a player like Danualt as well..but don't be intentionally disingenuous and act like he hasn't also been matched up with some of the best 1C defensive centre's of the generation as well. It is still his job to break through and win those matchups...but lets work off of facts lol.

Sure he's lost to some good ones too , also got locked up by Coyle and whoever CBJ was running that year , PLD or Dubinsky
