Series Talk: [A1] Toronto Maple Leafs vs [WC1] Ottawa Senators | Part II (TOR lead 3-0)

I wonder what percentage of the crowd will be leafs fans in Ottawa for game 3 and 4. The Senators have tried everything to limit access for Leafs fans to get tickets but we always find a way
If I had to guess, I'd say it'll be between 30-40% Leafs fans.

I don't think many tickets made it to the public sale, although I'm sure quite a few Leafs fans got them through STH. Before the Sens released standing room tickets, it was cheaper on Stubhub to go to a game in Toronto, so I don't think you'll see as many people coming from Toronto as you usually do, but you will see a lot of the Leafs fans who live in Ottawa snatch up a chance to see their team in a playoff game.

Its over next round, regardless. They are going to blow their wad early with the massive Ottawa round 1 win. They dont have it in them to beat a team like Florida IMO. Marner will go back to being a mouse again once Florida starts throwing hits.

To be fair they haven't really been pushed to play all that hard, just calmly and by the system. If it keeps going as is, they should have lots left in the system. Leafs like to make everything a 6 or 7 game affair though. Any of us who have been around a while know better than to trust them.

Leaf score board watching. But looks like Ottawa has been the better team???

Stolarz the big difference?
For sure, if you don't count the Rielly, Tavares and Domi goals, and pull Stolarz for 5-10 minutes. Ottawa win and shut out the Leafs. The score board tells us nothing about the game.

I wouldn’t panic if I were Ottawa. They’ve been the better team 5 of 6 periods. Win one game and stick to your guns and the pressure that the leafs have never dealt with will start to mount.
I've seen this narrative a lot, but I don't really think so. I thought they would control more play than Toronto, but they've been pretty much outclassed the whole way.

Ottawa has had the puck more, but haven't done much with it. Even if they're in the offensive zone, they don't create much offense. Most shots are non-dangerous. Looking at the xG splits, Toronto has been better despite getting "outshot". The Leafs have been more disciplined and more professional. Too many Sens making dumb mistakes. They really haven't "played better".

Not true man.

In yesterday's game alone, the Leafs were better in period 1 and 3.

Ottawa didn't even get their first shot of the 3rd period until there was 5 minutes left in the game, and they were trailing.

Leafs also thumped them in period 2 of game 1 and went into their shell for period 3.

Leafs have been the better team with the game has been on the line so far.

Typical leafs fans and there arrogance. I simply said I was only scoreboard watching have the sens been the better team as theyvseem to have more shots in both games and the leafs have been capitalizing on PPs. Amd simply asked if stolarz is the difference but ofc leafs fans shoot there mouths off instead of simply answering a straight forward question

Sens fans are way too hard on Batherson for that O-zone pass, but that happens all the time - hockey is a fast sport.

Sens fans need to be way harder on him for that D-zone play though. That fly by was an all time worst. He could have sent Domi into the 2025/2026 regular season and chose not to.

I quite enjoyed the pass myself, but that's me.

Typical Sens fans and their ignorance. I was simply referring to the importance of the score board cpmpared to the shot counter and Sens fans whine and complain instead of accepting the results and moving on to game 3 of the first round of a series that is not done yet like typical Leafs Fans have.

I’ve said it over the years to my fellow Leafs fans when it happened to us and I’ll repeat it generically here.

The whole thing about having the edge in shots, offensive zone time but somehow getting frustrated in the slot and or getting goalied en route to a loss is not an anomaly.

The deserve to win o meter isn’t factoring in that you are being game planned, it’s park the bus, it’s rope a dope.

Sens are learning how to play playoff hockey. Leafs have been here for 8? 9? years now. Not really surprised with the results so far.

Still can't believe Batherson did a fly by on Domi in OT though.

Curious how Stolarz will handle the load the rest of the series. Dude hasn't played a lot of hockey and has his fair share of injury problems.

Stolarz has been fine so far. He's gotta get playoff experience somehow.
