Series Talk: [A1] Toronto Maple Leafs vs [WC1] Ottawa Senators | Part II (TOR lead 3-0)

So we’re not allowed to be happy until you say so. Got it. In the meantime, keep up those sermons about arrogance.
Are you having a challenging time reading my post? I never said you shouldnt be happy, I am reading how the series is over its wild considering your teams past performances. Those are two very different things.

It was 2 to 1 and Stolarz stopped Tkachuk on a break away and Pinto point blank. Then the outrageous penalty on stutzle stopped all the sens momentum when the leafs scored on the pp that never should have happend.

If the goalies are switched what do you think the score would have been? Ullmark didnt make a save all game. To act like this was some wild beating and the series is over is hilarious. Especially for a team that has shown time and time again different and creative ways to lose. I am by no means saying I expect Ottawa to come back, they were dogs from the start. But there is just 0 self awareness going on in this thread.
If you’d check my posts in this thread I’m not saying it was a beat down at all . And I expect this to be a competive series . I actually agree with you ( and said it ) that it was anyone’s game at 5 on 5 .

There was only the deserved penalty on Stutzle.

I was more referencing all the hyperbole in this thread and other various news outlets.

Why are you reading about the series being over? It has been one game. Sure, you might have a Sens fan like this "There’s going to be a lot of crying in here when the Sens win this series." maybe even some fans of the Maple Leafs, but you can just as easily read the post of most fans saying that it is only one game and that it will be a tough series.

If the Leafs keep playing a patient game, Ottawa will be in tough to respond.

This is the biggest revelation for this team. To end the season and last night, they played such a mature and patient game, trusting the process and playing the game.

It’s been a beautiful thing to see.

The eye test and the results since the roster moves and the coaching change really do point to this being different

But of course, they need to rebuild our hopes in new ways if they still plan on crushing our souls.

And I’m building hope. I promised myself I wouldn’t get too high over anything that happened during the regular season, but all bets are off if they perform well in the playoffs!

The leafs really do need to expect a different sens team tomorrow night.

Can’t take their foot off the gas because Ottawa had one bad noght
I'm not sure it was just a bad night. I think the challenge for Ottawa is that they are playing a much better team. Unless Ottawa can play mistake -free hockey, and realistically they can't, they aren't going to be able to beat Toronto four times.

Are the goalies not part of the team? Or do we have to switch next game.
I pointed out in the last thread that Stolarz had been the better goalie the last 2 years and Ullmark had terrible playoff numbers and was basically laughed at for it by Sens and neutral fans.
And that advantage is unlikely to change in game 2.

The Sens learned some lessons in game 1 we will see if they can make the necessary adjustments and Ullmark can find his regular season form.

Marner was in the lane and had a hard time cutting the angle because greig was quick to get a step in front of him.

But do you know who didn’t ’lose an edge’? Mitch Marner. Do you know who was going just as fast in the exact same direction? Marner

Why didn’t Marner lose an edge? I’ll tell you why, because greig knew he was driving with the purpose of attempting to injure our goaltender

Yeah marner didn’t loose an edge because he didn’t do the exact same thing as Greig. I don’t have the time to teach you about edges and weight distribution. He lost an edge crashing the net cause marner played it soft.

A much better team? Impossible. We were assured before the series that TO was no match.

Goalies are part of the team yes. Is Stolarz going to be incredible every game and Ullmark terrible? I'll let you decide if thats a likely scenario.

Greig is a bitch, plain and simple. Should be suspended at least 1 game for that cross check tbh. Matthews got suspended for 2 for the same play, Rielly got 5.

Sucks he isn’t suspended. Wonder what he will do in game 2.

'MuCh betTeR teAm' they were 11 points apart lol.

Toronto is clearly a favorite but this is a wildly inaccurate take.
