Series Talk: [A1] Toronto Maple Leafs vs [WC1] Ottawa Senators | Part II (TOR lead 3-0)

Ottawa lots of room to improve. All expectations on Toronto, as Ottawa gets stronger pressure on Toronto increases and we’ll see how they do when the series gets to be like real playoff hockey and not reffed by women’s league officials

Ottawa isn’t Tampa or Florida. They aren’t even Boston.

And Ullmark certainly isn’t even a shadow of Carey Price.

The Leafs gave all those great teams everything they could handle, and beat a dynasty Tampa bay team. Ottawa is living on hopes and dreams in this series and their biggest dream is that Toronto beats themselves.

Not a lot to hold onto, is it?

Toronto won by being soft, the Tanev and Matthews dives did good for them. Good for the Leaves, but they won't win this round playing soft like that. They'll keep trying though.
Honest question, do people think this is some sick burn and they know grammer better than the people who named the team? Soon as I see that it let's me know the person making the comment has the intelligence of a toddler and to disregard anything they say as childish drivel.

It’s a team meeting they have team before every game lol. They will discuss the game, go over video and discuss game plan for game 2. You are thinking of a players choice not meeting which this is not lol.
Yes, I did think it was a player-called meeting. They announce every pre-game meeting to the media?

No, they announce every availability though. Today their media availability is after the team meeting. That’s the post. Gloating that the other team is having a team meeting after game 1 is objectively funny.

Ottawa looked like a completely inexperienced playoff team in game 1 which shouldn't really come as a surprise.
Yup. The Sens have an immature core who played outside of any structure. They ran around looking for hits, resulting in foolish penalties. And shot from spots that were basically turnovers. Their coach, Green, didn’t help. His yelling at the refs isn’t what younger players need.

Sens are having a player only meeting or a coaches included team meeting? If it’s the former (players only) that would be strange.

Not so much gloating as thinking it is absurd and unnecessary. It struck me as a very Melnyk-era piece of news, but I guess we're past that

There were no women's league officials involved in the game. Garrett Rank and
Brian Pochmara are long standing NHL referees.

Calling a team meeting after a single playoff game, and announcing it in the media, is absurd.
Players only meeting would be strange. That would indicate there’s a problem in the group that needs to be openly addressed without coaches there. Is that what happened?

Thanks but we aren’t taking playoff advice from a leafs fan, we don’t want to go out in the 1st round.

Yeah, it's clearly not working.

It's one game. This series can still turn around and get good.
Are the Sens young core players mature enough to put aside their individual play and stay inside team structure that reduces their offence? It’s a hard game to play the right way against a hardened playoff club that is playing that way. It’s not the fun free skating style some of the Sens younger guys prefer.

Best stat i just heard from last night is the Leafs scored 3 goals in just 20 seconds of PP time. :D

Leafs go out and grab the Sens by the throat with a game two win. I wonder where the team meeting will be when they come home after back to back slaps at Scotiabank Arena.

Go Leafs Go
