...bags of money (extended) and no Toronto media to deal with...look at Johnny Hockey; Columbus wasn't anywhere close to being a contender but the chill Family life and no hockey-mad media to deal with daily...depends on where his head is...lol at thinking Marner waives for the basement dwelling Sabres even if Buffalo agreed to do it.
I just think Marner's a poor fit here. We need a top 6 center and we could really use a RHD that can actually defend. Those are our biggest needs. The strength of the organization right now is all the young forward talent we have in the pipeline and on the team, most of which projects to the wing. You wouldn’t want Marner with an extension in place?
There’s nothing Toronto can add to this deal to make Buffalo a better team?
You are right, we should trade away every player to other teams as a favour to them. That will surely fix things. Not moving Marner and Buffalo is on their own track, their rebuild that started in 2011-12 will be complete any year now, better they continue on that path
Realistically Marner isn't waiving for any trade, so it's just fantasy talk. Not moving Marner and Buffalo is on their own track, their rebuild that started in 2011-12 will be complete any year now, better they continue on that path
Really? I see it as the opposite. Only way he'd end up there would be via trade. Can't see him going to Buffalo on the open market.
“A trade involving Marner & Dahlin. Interest on either side? What would it take?”
Basically that’s it. What would it take to make both the Sabres & Maple Leafs a trade winner? If possible.
Marner isn't even talking extension with the leafs.Any trade for Marner would include an extension as he has a NTC anyway
Buffalo can negotiate the exact same extension themselves so the value his value is the exact same as if he's a rentalMarner extension in place then the talks can begin.
