Not even worth discussing. Dahlin isn't being moved and he's certainly not being moved for Mitch Marner.
I see Dahlin as the more valuable player and one who plays a more important position.
Just IMHO.
Absolutely. Dahlin is A) A franchise player B) He plays a much more important position C) He's younger than Marner and locked up long-term. This is an absolute turd sandwich for Buffalo.

Do you see how bad the Sabres D would be without Dahlin? He missed most of the games during the 13 game losing streak and they were horrible with Power trying to play on the first pair. They are not trading him for a forward.

It doesn’t have to be for just a forward though.
There’s no adds that could foreseeable make this a doable deal. The Sabres don’t need more pieces they need higher value better ones. We’re not downgrading players in positions with additions to make up the difference…

Sabres team D is still allowing lots of goals and trading Dahlin for Marner is not the solution. Even if Marner has an extension.
A top paring D for a top winger? Most choose the top paring D and I like both players for different reasons.
Why wouldn't the Sabres just see if Marner reaches UFA? Also, why would Marner waive his NMC for a non playoff team? Makes no sense in a lot of ways.

Really? I see it as the opposite. Only way he'd end up there would be via trade. Can't see him going to Buffalo on the open market.

Marner is not waiving his NMC and he is not signing an extension with the sabres. You must be new if you didn't know that.

There’s no player on the leafs I’d be willing to trade Dahlin for other than Matthews - he’s the Sabres franchise player right now and it’s not even close. The only player I’d be willing to trade him for is another teams equivalent or better franchise player. Pretty simple.
Look what Miko rantenen went for - a good hole, but not anything close to a franchise level player. Do you think that the avs would’ve treated makar or McKinnon for that? Not a chance in hell… Different level of player.
