I love the fact that just about every Kings player except maybe Clifford is being named here... that just goes to show the type of team DL has built over the past several seasons.

When you're rolling Mike Richards on the 4th line and getting production out of that line, you know things are going well.

i still don't like his style of coaching, we go silent because there's really no point of firing him now, but his style of coaching drains players over a 82 game schedule , he removes the fun factor from games, so it's very draining to watch and i'm sure for players as well

with the amount of talent on this team, we should be battling for 1st in the league and have a better 1st round matchup

why should we always battle?

I so don't understand this line of thinking. The only thing not fun about the Kings is watching them lose. Since the Olympic break, there hasn't been a whole lot of losing and I've had plenty of fun watching the games. This isn't directed at you specifically but I kinda question what some people expect. You want the team to score 5 goals a game, shut down the other team defensively and oh yeah, it must be run and gun or some exciting style of play that is unlike the Kings under Sutter? I think that is unrealistic. Winning games is all that matters and that equates to fun as far as I'm concerned.

Agree wholeheartedly. If I want to see a fun offensive blow up game I check into any Penguins or Ducks game as those teams are fun to watch but are not championship hockey teams. Look at Philly-Pens two seasons ago. That was an awesome series for entertainment purposes but I wouldn't recommend any Pens or Philly fan that has a pacemaker implanted to watch. Bottom line it was two trains crashing and the survivor was going to crash and burn against the next team which is exactly what Philly did. That is not championship hockey. What the Kings are doing now is championship hockey. That's all. And its fun as far as I am concerned.

Everyone wants their team to play like the Hawks.

It's unrealistic , their is only One Duncan Kieth , One Patrick Kane, One Toews in the league.

Colorado is the only team I can think of, that looks and play's like the Hawks.

But it has too be a top down transition, all the way through Drafting.

The Kings under Lombardi, are never going to play , or draft like that.

I love the Kings style of play, it instills fear.

The Kings make teams pay for every inch of ice they skate on.

I don't care how tough you are, it's not fun knowing, you are going to get hit all night long.

Toews had an awesome quote last year: "It's not a fun team to play against, you earn every inch of ice you get" "It's not fun". -Toews talking to media about the LA Kings.

This idea is almost universal around the league. I've heard numerous opposing teams say they think twice before going into the corners because they know they'll get crushed.

Too lazy to go back over my posts in '12, but I remember I re-quoted one of the Devils in the finals that year saying it "feels like they are losing" when playing the Kings even though the game is tied or they're ahead by a goal. I want that "feeling" the Kings give to their opponents again!

I don't get it when people think kings games are boring. When they are in a slump and do nothing but play the perimeter I can understand. Maybe I'm biased, but watching a team smash people along the boards is right up my alley. At times I wish perhaps they would have more odd-man rushes, but they sacrifice that for solid team D.

When they attack the middle of the ice they are fun to watch. It's fun to watch Kopi be able to control the puck against anyone in the league along the boards.

I mean, it could be worse. We could have a 50 goal scorer on the team that's a plus/minus negative one billion and have no even strength points the entire month of March.

From game 1 thru last night, for me, the only player who has been there, shift in , shift out and who has no replacement is Drew Doughty. There is nobody who can do what he does, for 28 plus min a game at that level and deliver. He's all world. He's amazing on every level and has been pretty much consistent. If that injury he got late in the year sidelined him for the playoffs ,the kings would have never survived the first round

There has been several clutch players delivering throughout the games at key moments. One player can't win a Cup, it takes entire team. Williams in every game 7, AMart in OT vs Hawks, Gabby in game 1 vs Ducks. Quick's timely saves when they need it.

And there are more heroes ,quiet ones whose shifts were important, saving goals, stick checking , clearing the puck from harm's way and out of the zone, that doean't appear in the boxscore.

That's why this team has been so successful for the last 3 playoffs. DL has put together a team of players who hate losing more than they like winning. Who get angry when they lose (Like JW was last year when the Kings got eliminated) you can'at put a price on that . And it's going to get them 2 Cup in 3 years.

Clutch team...

He is my front runner too.
Though, Justin Williams is making a case too. I am in awe of his game 7 performances.

Williams is a great dark horse pick, but that's a total long shot. It's more likely that Lundqvist would win even if the Kings win the series. (Not saying that will happen, mind you.)

Williams is the sexy dark horse pick - great call. I'd love it if he won it.

Speaking of little moves with the puck, Willie is a grand master of change of direction along the boards. He made a fool of multiple Jets last night. It's part of what makes him such a strong possession player, but an underrated part of his game.

Indeed. Apparently no one seemed to notice the sweet little move he made in the neutral zone just to get the puck in deep for the game 7 winning goal in Chicago.

I agree that it is highly unlikely that Williams will win it ... it's not sexy enough ... but his performances in the 7 elimination games (so far) has been off the charts. 6 goals, 5 assists and +7. Talk about being a big game player.

If he has a strong final series ... who knows ...
