I once saw a goal scored in the playoffs with like 8 skaters on the ice in o.t.The refs won't call pretty much anything unless its a delay of game or clear mugging that prevents a quality scoring chance. Its been that way for years and won't change any time soon

This is not all that egregious to me and I wouldn't even cry foul if that goal was scored on us.

I can see why Tampa fans would be complaining, but I also can't fault the refs for not calling that penalty in OT. Not egregious enough for me.

Seems like a bad call but not one to just claim the league is basically fixing games and all.
Well, you can agree to disagree on how bad a call is, but bad calls happen.

I think the "fixing" narrative comes from the NHL editing that material but like I said, I totally understand why they did that and it's not like they did in the dead of the night. It was out in the open.

I need to know from Kadri if he was anticipating Nichushkin coming to the bench or if he was taking Mackinnon the whole time. I need to know.

I always hated the change on the fly rules and have never found too many men penalties interesting or fun.

To change on a shift, it should require a player to actually tap the player at the bench that will replace them. No more Panarin throwing his arm up at the dots and coast back to the bench. I want players to have to physically tag up to complete a shift.

If this was called, it would have been a worse call than a worse non-call. Cooper is a great coach but totally insufferable. He complains all the time about everything.

Their team got dominated in OT and should have lost well before that. Tampa is also unpenalized on all of their interference. There were so many hooks, holds, etc, in last night's game as was the norm in the series against us. This aging team can't keep up with Col, who is a better version of us, and frankly, they couldn't keep up with us until they started "legally" interfering on everything.

This thread is fine given the drama, but the OP is so ridiculously off base using this as an example of his leaguewide fraud (which is frankly a bs conspiracy theory). Hockey runs at an incredibly high speed and it is just a really hard game to officiate. So many calls could be one way or the other, or are simply missed. Would you rather have 17 refs on the ice and a call on every play like football, or would you rather just let them play and live with some of the consequences.

Seems to me a pretty obvious missed call. Kadri hops on. Mack comes off 30 feet later with Kadri on a half breakaway. The 7 Lightning on the ice is a red herring. The 2 Lightning that hopped on early are wayyy behind the puck and have no impact on the play.

I don’t know if there’s some grand conspiracy, but I do know that officiating in sports is awful, and especially bad in the NHL and should be addressed in the summer.

This board needs more rant threads, so kudos to the OP.

Probably should have been called, but in terms of missed calls in the playoffs it's waaaaaaaaaay down the list.
It would be interesting to go back and see just how many similiar calls are missed each game, but becuase they don't end up with a player scoring (on a 1-on-3 no less!) we never care.

Yeah, every game it seems like between the crowd and the announcers, there are at least a couple that go uncalled, or were maybe borderline. Stands to reason then there are several more that go unnoticed, just due to the speed of the game and the chaotic nature of line changes.

I don't even think it would have been a notable moment had it not occured immediately preceding a goal. Or, it would have just been on the list with 15 other things that could have been called but weren't, or shouldn't have been called but were.

This feels like when someone points to holding on a WR on the opposite side of the field from a TD play. Yeah, should have been called if we're calling it by the book, had nothing to do with the play, only will be remembered because something else happened.

I feel like if the refs called too many men there no one would have batted an eye, unless of course Tampa scored in the ensuing powerplay. Then we’re back in outrage city.
