While it's fun to speculate, so much depends on where the Isles stand at the trade deadline and how willing the owners are to move on from Lou. If the Isles are in or very close to a playoff spot, I can't see Lou or the owners approving a sell-off of Nelson and Palmieri. Playoff games bring in a lot of revenue and I think a lot of hockey guys think that once you get in, anything can happen. Hell, it happened for this team twice recently in reaching the conference finals.
I would hope that Lou is leaving any contract discussion with Nelson and Palmieri to the end of the season, while hopefully having preliminary discussions with Romanov and Dobson. Given Dobson's bad year, it wouldn't surprise me to see a one year deal, because Lou's got to be worried about a massive contract for him, while Dobson and his agent have to be concerned about how much this year is costing him.
