A Plea to the Kings: Do Not Use This Lame Anthem!

I know its hokey but I get all chocked up with that damned thing everytime I watch it.

I just got tears in my eyes watching it. From getting our hearts ripped out by Montreal to the great playoff run in NHL history.

Right before I read your post, I forwarded it via email to a coworker who caught Game 3 and loved it and asked me twice today what time Game 4 is on.

The email was titled "you'll be a full fledged Kings fan after watching this"

No doubt.

I remember among other times how great it felt to watch the miracle on MCH happen and how it was the highlight of being a Kings fan for me. A day later I felt like it couldn't get any better than that and for the first time I had hope that we could be ready to win a Stanley Cup.

That danged video took me all the way back to that moment and then on to actually getting 99 on our team. Then on to the Montreal game and then up to last year.

Must be pretty good to get me thinking about all those things again and all at once too.

And I don't even like that song unless it is accompanying that video. Really great stuff right there.

While we're sort of close to the subject, does the organist at Staples drive anybody else nuts? This one's been gnawing at me forever.

Whoever they are will launch into some pretty awesome, creative covers, but to wrap it up they always fall back into that same generic tune: "duh duh DUUUH. duh duh DUUUH." Every. Damn. Stoppage.

Its like a talented but shy person dancing, and they give up after 5 seconds and going back to shuffling and embarrassed grinning.

Now THAT is funny.

I had never noticed it but next time I am at the Staples Center (next season) I am so going to be listening for it. I can understand why it would drive you crazy. Its one of those kind of things that once you notice them they drive you right up the wall.

You should go find the person and beg mercy.

Joe Tripoli would walk around during the warm ups at the Forum and take requests. He was alright.

Just heard the song, I'm liking the idea of and Anthem for the Kings as a rally chant. While i do like some of the Lyrics of this song I'm not a fan of the musical delivery. I feel like this needs to be revisited if they want this idea to be successful.
