what, are you peaking in his window?Gibson is coming guy...
My sourcesare saying Binnington
Are you talking about Parssinen, Tomasino and Fabbro? Hardly a future core.Trotz has ruined the future of Preds.
Added what they didn't really need and gave away the future core.
Jeff Skinner can't be moved.Judging by the Oiler board, the only players they are willing to move are Evander Kane, Jeff Skinner, Stew Skinner, Victor Arvedsson, Adam Henrique and Brett Kuluk. So pretty much the oilers are not willing to move anything of value. Unless they put one of Bouchard, Hyman, or or one of the duo up? They are not getting a legit number one goalie till McDavid and Leon are in the Hall of fame
Barring injures he's the best goalie on the market that oilers can afford.Gibson is the guy that to me makes the most scary in a playoff series. He’s playing great this year but more importantly - I think he’d come into that locker room with the right balance of vocal veteran leadership and a chip on his shoulder wanting to prove something after years in the abyss.
It seems crazy but the guy is still only 31…if you make it worthwhile for the Ducks to retain, you could have your solution for the next 3 playoff runs at a very reasonable cap hit, seeing some of the new goalie numbers coming out this year.
Gibson just has the potential to make the Oilers much more intimidating to against in a best-of seven.
At this point any legit goalie that Edmonton gets is going to require an overpay. What do you think that means in terms of assets needed to acquire Gibson?Barring injures he's the best goalie on the market that oilers can afford.
He also reminds me of Price in sense of season is lost, he's not gonna care that much. But I imagine a trade to EDM would light a fire on his ass and he'd look way better.
Oilers gotta do it. Gibson is the answer
Sorry. I forgot to include the sarcasm emoji lolA week ago you would have been blasted for even suggesting Binngton, but he might be a good target. Depends on if St. Louis management sees this year as a quick re-tool, and if he is part of the plan to be a playoff team again next year.
I think we've seen how poorly the "Georgiev as #1" thing goes. We're looking for an upgrade. Skinner has his warts for sure, but I don't think Georgiev is an improvement.

It means that Mr Positive is likely to be disappointed if Edmonton really wants Gibson...Akey, Savoie and O'Reilly are not available in trade.
The Oilers management would likely view Skinner as still our future starter.
ANA wouldn't bite if EDM put their 2026 1st on the table? That & Savoie are their most valuable assets and i think Oils would rather part ways with the 1st rounder. At this point any legit goalie that Edmonton gets is going to require an overpay. What do you think that means in terms of assets needed to acquire Gibson?
Gibson is likely the option if we want to turn goaltending from a weakness to a strength but we can aim a bit lower. I do agree that if we want Gibson with any retention then we are talking about trading the few decent prospects we haveIt means that Mr Positive is likely to be disappointed if Edmonton really wants Gibson...
Mainly talking about blowing the load on Stamkos+Saros+Skjei when they should've just kept Ekholm, Fabbro and Askarov while getting a boatload for Saros. Are you talking about Parssinen, Tomasino and Fabbro? Hardly a future
You keep Gibson, Edmonton will take DostalIt means that Mr Positive is likely to be disappointed if Edmonton really wants Gibson...
The oilers would never be a team that the nucks would trade a star goalie to. Even if they did the oilers have literally nothing another team far away and not a hated rival would beat.Just to stir the pot, what is being offered for Demko?
Skip the whole "inter-division tax" BS, what does Edmonton offer for a Vezina runner up?
Not sure it'll matter much, unless they wrap their new addition in goal with a couple of new additions for their top six D -- one of whom had better play pretty high up the depth chart. It's rough back there and their shortcomings at the position expose Edmonton's goalies far too often.
I'd rate their needs as follows: 1) as good a defenseman as they can afford, ideally a #1-3; a 2) a new goalie; and 3) a #4-6 defenseman.
This club isn't one player away.
It would have to be an A to A+ goalie. Magically trick NYR into giving you Shesty for Bouchard+. Obviously dont have to pay Bouch then but need to take on the difference in Shesty money which makes re-signing McDavid a tad bit harder potentially (obviously priority there). But you're also shipping out the leader in EV TOI/GP.
I'm not completely opposed to the idea, but a C- upgrade in net + Bouchard is probably better than a B upgrade + a right side of Klingberg, Emberson, and Stecher.

The oilers with their cap, no first this year and no proven prospects will be scraping the bottom of the barrel on D and in net.
Some oilers fans mocked Allvin for cutting his losses despite the fact it allowed him to get Marcus Pettersson, O'Connor and Lankinen locked up.
The oilers GM should have moved Kane and cut his losses on two absolutely terrible signings in Skinner and Ardvidsson that made no sense then and not only cost the offer-sheets but now keep them from adding now while missing out on Marcus, O'Connor and maybe a goalie like Blackwood.
I doubt Velmejka (sp) is available and if he was I doubt he would be traded to the oilers.
Maybe Savoie gets Gibson but at some point the ducks will want some vets or proven youth to add to all their young players
