A.I. reads the HF main board and creates a podcast

For a hopefully fun meta-exercise, I asked the gal & the guy to summarize this very thread (right up until post #124). :D Some of you (such as @Divine, @Golden_Jet and @Osprey) are quoted by name. Enjoy (it's 10:15 min)!

This is absolutely mind-boggling, it’s even more energetic than the original one, and completely sounds believable.

If I did not know it was AI, I would definitely be tricked for a little bit here

I’ve heard this podcast before briefly, It sounds like a totally scripted content. Makes sense now. Didn’t realize it was AI before. I lost interest pretty quickly. The fake earnest “absolutely” “ ahh” “shows thus…” It’s annoying.

I can now say that I've been mentioned on a podcast. Just what I've always wanted...

BTW, it can be made playable in browsers by attaching the file:

Thanks, @Osprey. Was looking for that direct upload option, but couldn't readily find it, so I did it like @MikeFolignosHelmet did in the opening post, but uploading it directly is a lot better.

I lost interest pretty quickly. The fake earnest “absolutely” “ ahh” “shows thus…” It’s annoying.

Well, as mentioned before, it depends on the subject matter/the source you feed it. I used this in my workplace for an absolutely serious subject that the workplace is grappling with, being uncertain as to how to proceed, and the "podcast" summarized everything (a lot of source material) neatly in 26 minutes. It wasn't boring or annoying in the slightest – it really distilled everything to the crucial elements of the subject at hand. And there was no need to fake earnestness, either, as the subject matter truly is serious, unlike the fun we're having with this NotebookLM tool here on HFBoards.

I know its delusional and we prolly all seen it on social media.

But when I thought about AI and "robot" I imagine someone working instead of you. Doing chores. Instead they do your art/media, the "fun" stuff.

It sucks.

I think it’s hilarious how they talk about the dangers of AI like they aren’t AI themselves 🤣

It's also ironic that the duo is oblivious to the fact that the "AI" being experimented with on HFBoards is themselves. :D These AI models sometimes completely lack self-awareness (almost like our politicians). Happens with ChatGPT's models in the paid account, too – often, they realize who they are, but sometimes, they pretend to be "human like you" (like this robot guy did in the second HFBoards "podcast episode").

When AI tells a joke that is not preconceived by one of its progenitors, then I will raise an eyebrow.
I just asked ChatGPT to write several jokes about you. The responses:
Why did Hippasus always get kicked out of geometry class?

Because every time he tried to prove a point, he’d irrationally go off on a tangent!
Why did Hippasus bring a ladder to the math lecture?

Because he heard they were going to talk about irrational numbers, and he wanted to reach the root of the problem!
Why did Hippasus break up with geometry?

Because he realized their relationship was irrational, and no matter how hard he tried, they couldn’t find any common denominators!
Is your eyebrow raised yet? 🤨

Nope, it's common knowledge.
What is, that Hippasus discovered irrational numbers? Yes, but you didn't ask for something that isn't common knowledge. You asked for a joke, and you can't expect an AI to make a joke about something that it knows nothing about any more than you can expect a human to.
Ask A.I. about the tribulations of monkeys in Gibraltar (with an original joke or thought).
Okay, I asked.
Why did the monkey in Gibraltar apply for a desk job?

Because he was tired of hanging around tourists all day and wanted to climb the corporate ladder instead of the rock! 😄🐒💼

In all seriousness, I think A.I. cannot bring in inputs that are beyond logic. Emotions, feelings, tapestries from past experiences. It seems utterly fake to me. A.I. cannot be conscious. I strongly believe this, but giving an argument might derail the thread?

Okay, I asked.
Fair enough, I suppose A.I. is right once again.

I used to love to listen to Lex Fridman's podcasts on A.I., as that is his area, and he also has this sort of personable and philosophical bent.

I hear what you're saying now and don't disagree. There's no genuine playfulness behind the jokes. It can make them, though.

6:58 "Divine even floated the idea of commenters licensing their voices for AI broadcasts"

What the hell, no I didn't. What is this, an HfBoards poster?

How far off are we from court cases with "evidence" made by AI?

It's not going to take that long until you can insert anyone in a video as long as you have their photos or have an audio recording of them as long as you have clips of their real voice.

The videos and audio will at somepoint become nearly undetectable to be fake to the human eye/ear. Surely scammers will start exploiting people with these advancements. Law enforcement will have their work cut out for them and they in many countries are behind technological advancements due to bureaucracy and budget constraints.
Not too long ago there was no such thing as video evidence. I guess we'll have to go back to the basics.

AI - does not exist.

And not going to exist for long, long, long time.

The problem with creation of Artificial Intelligence is necessity to fully understand the Natural Intelligence aka "human brain" first. You can't make something you don't understand. It is impossible.

And the modern day science stuck so badly that there is literally no any theory that may explain how it actually works. And the main problem here is the tool we - humans use to figure out human brain - .... is human brain. Which potentially makes the problem unsolvable.

So forget about "AI", call it "chatbot", "advanced software", whatever, but it is not AI.

The amount of jobs that AI can replace at relatively cheap costs in the next decades is going to be staggering. The job market will experience mass unemployment it seems like and tons will be screwed.

If your work can be done by AI it will get dicey fairly soon.

But will people reject a lot of this slop?

I write notes old school in a notebook for work. I have a very deliberate format and writing that repeats each week. All my important KPI’s and notes on everything extra that’s going on or that I’m working on.

I started taking pictures of my notebook and copy/pasting my notes into an AI and asking it to summarize and create a data set by week and build an excel dashboard that charts trends.

Something I certainly can do myself, but the fact that it works so f***ing well is absolutely terrifying.

It doesn’t track trends as well as I can, yet …. But it’s freaky good at it and has analyzed things that I’ve overlooked.

Also businesses need to be careful about people feeding their company data into these language models
