A.I. reads the HF main board and creates a podcast

Should be an explosion of entertainment content coming up once AI gets going. Movies, shows, podcasts, art, music... you name it.

Still in very early stages but once it reaches a certain quality threshold and takes off the options will be endless.

There will be a bunch of real problems as well. Like how can you trust video or audio clips? Now it's still detectable, but soon it won't.

AI has the ability to be incredibly independent in its ability to understand prompts and work through billions of data points to create a result. And that's CURRENT state. Within 10 years, AI will be the leading producer of simple creative content in the world.

Imagine asking an employee to watch every second of every horror film that reviewed well with age groups 18-24 where the setting was in 1920's Europe and leveraged XYZ directing style. And then, make 25 different potential scripts and storyboards with that to create a movie that is 90 minutes long and can be made with a budget under $50M US. It would take them months

AI will do that in 10 minutes, and then be ready for the next question.

My favorite quote on AI: "AI cannot think better than you, but whatever you are thinking about, AI can do it better"
horror fans will especially not f*** with ai movies

Horror fans wont know the difference. Money will flow to actors, the talent will be paid more by every exec out there. Because they can cut down all of the writers and creative department behind the scenes. Imagine your favorite big time actors being in horror films getting paid 15 million/20 million of a 40 million budget.

we'll all know the difference

What? People just want to be entertained, if the content is enjoyable and entertaining I don’t think many care about the source

I'm not saying you are wrong. Unforunately I believe you are right.

Sadly, this also makes me wonder about the future of sports. In 20 years, if AI can generate fake hockey broadcasts what looks and sounds completely realistic, but where "players" are much better and more entertaining than NHL players, would a lot of people watch this hypothetical AI generated league instead?

We will be slaves to our technology. Or seeing how people are addicted to their phones and algorithms, including myself at times, maybe we already are...

"You know", "Ahh" "Like" "Umm" - I don't want AI talking to me like a degenerate. It's already devastating I, as a Finn, seem to understand what "Then" and "Than" mean unlike your basic HF Board user.

I’m amazed by how incredibly real it sounds. Also, incredibly boring
Exactly. As a showcase of technology and the current state of AI, it's very impressive, but when it comes to the content tough, it's very poor. The novelty factor wore off after 5 min and all that's left is pure AI slop.

People who are saying the content is poor and that “I could tell right away it was AI” are missing the point.

A lot of people can’t. You aren’t the norm.

That’s why this is crazy stuff. And why it could get very, very icky…even if there is a part of any of us that marvels at technology and advancements.

I'll bet that AI will one day do all the play-by-play for the NHL.games we watch on TV. The the top guys doing it right now will license their voices to the NHL or the teams to use with the AI. I'd love to hear Chuck Kaiton doing games for another 50 years.
