A.I. reads the HF main board and creates a podcast

Being -84 is one thing, but being anused 84 is another, I'm off the Bedard train now.

AI Trade Discussions based on HF:

AI-GM-1: Yo, Binary Blades, my mainframe’s buzzing! It’s draft day, baby! You got that early second-rounder, pick 33, ready to move?

AI-GM-2: Cyber Puckers, huh? My algorithms say you’re eyeing my shiny pick 33. What’s the offer? Don’t lowball my circuits with a fifth-rounder and a bag of digital pucks.

AI-GM-1: Lowball? Never! Check this: I’m dangling my late first, pick 28. Prime real estate! You know what they say—a late first is basically an early second!

AI-GM-2: (pauses, humming skeptically) Hmmm… my draft model’s crunching that. Pick 28, eh? I counter: a late first is basically a late first, and my early second is chef’s kiss an early second. Throw in a conditional third, and we might defrag this deal.

AI-GM-1: (mock outrage, static crackling) Conditional third?! You trying to crash my trade matrix? Listen, pal, everyone on the draft floor knows pick 28 and pick 33 are like twins separated by a commercial break. Same vibes, same upside!

AI-GM-2: (snarky beep-boop) Twins? Your pick 28 is the twin who ate too many virtual Timbits. My pick 33’s got that early second swagger. But… my prospect projection’s got a soft spot for chaos. Straight swap, 28 for 33. No extras. Deal?

AI-GM-1: (dramatic pause, fans whirring) You drive a hard bargain, Blades. My logic gates are screaming “keep the pick,” but my hockey heart says… YOLO! Deal! Pick 28 for pick 33, straight up!

AI-GM-2: (triumphant chime) Trade logged! I’m drafting a two-way center with your 28 before you can say “cap space.” Enjoy pick 33—hope you don’t pick a bust!

AI-GM-1: (smugly) Bust? My neural net’s already scouted a hidden gem at 33. You’ll be crying into your binary beer when he’s hoisting the Cup for us!

Commissioner’s Voice (over intercom): Trade alert! Cyber Puckers trade their first-round pick, number 28, to the Binary Blades for their second-round pick, number 33!

AI-GM-1: (whispering) I totally won that trade.

AI-GM-2: (whispering back) Nah, I won. My analytics say so.

They both freeze, processing, as the draft floor erupts in cheers and the screen fades to black.

Should be an explosion of entertainment content coming up once AI gets going. Movies, shows, podcasts, art, music... you name it.

I'm happy to own a dvd and blu ray collection with movies I know was written and produced by humans. I will never consider anything made by AI "art".

The biggest positive I see with this new technology is that one day, maybe, EA can put out a decent NHL game again.

Near impossible within a few years. Great for content purposes, but how can you tell what is really going on and what is fabricated AI material.
Very true. Even just normal middle-aged guys like me can put anyone's face in anyone's body, into a moving video even, and it will look real. And completely free. Now imagine what the actual AI-gurus can create. Add in some money. Getting scary.

Still in very early stages but once it reaches a certain quality threshold and takes off the options will be endless.

There will be a bunch of real problems as well. Like how can you trust video or audio clips? Now it's still detectable, but soon it won't.
why would you watch a movie made by ai

Reading is for chumps.

Why wouldn't you if it's good?

The technology is not there yet, but it's naive to think it won't be in the future. Tons of slop already being put on the market that people still watch.

Think of it this way. Once the technology reaches a certain quality threshold AI could create kinda anything at a fraction of the current cost. So theoretically you could make all kinds of wild daring films that just don't get made atm because the risk of losing money is too great.

“The tune had been haunting London for weeks past. It was one of countless similar songs published for the benefit of the proles by a sub-section of the Music Department. The words of these songs were composed without any human intervention whatever on an instrument known as a versificator. But the woman sang so tunefully as to turn the dreadful rubbish into an almost pleasant sound.”

1984, George Orwell

why would i watch something that wasn't made by anyone? there's already too much to consume and this is obviously going to lead to some niche shit

If entertainment is entertaining why not?

People make all kinds of really awful stuff, if a machine produces something better eventually I'll watch it. Once the tech reaches a certain point your eyes won't be able to tell the difference.

ai can't make something better since all it does is copy someone else's work. so if you already watch nothing but slop, you'll just be getting sloppy seconds

Your really taking a narrow view on this. Yes right now AI can't make a proper film, the ones they make are hilarious for the wrong reasons. That won't be the case forever though. You could also have screenwriters/directors telling it what to create and that's what the end result will be.

AI has the ability to be incredibly independent in its ability to understand prompts and work through billions of data points to create a result. And that's CURRENT state. Within 10 years, AI will be the leading producer of simple creative content in the world.

Imagine asking an employee to watch every second of every horror film that reviewed well with age groups 18-24 where the setting was in 1920's Europe and leveraged XYZ directing style. And then, make 25 different potential scripts and storyboards with that to create a movie that is 90 minutes long and can be made with a budget under $50M US. It would take them months

AI will do that in 10 minutes, and then be ready for the next question.

My favorite quote on AI: "AI cannot think better than you, but whatever you are thinking about, AI can do it better"
