There's this mathematician from about 100 years ago, Turing, after whom this Turing Test is named, that thought AI is conscious if we can't tell the difference between machine behavior and human behavior. I call bullshit, but his ideas are actually used in voice and image recognition software.I've pretty much completely ignored this AI stuff the past couple years so when I listened to this I spent the first 3 minutes wondering when the robot would start talking before I realized the guy and girl talking were the robots. Crazy, never thought I'd live to see the day.
Yeah, I don't really have any opinions on the Turing test but I certainly know what it is. The movie Ex Machina was based on the idea of it and is a pretty interesting movie imo. The Imitation Game is a pretty good biographical film on Turing. There's this mathematician from about 100 years ago, Turing, after whom this Turing Test is named, that thought AI is conscious if we can't tell the difference between machine behavior and human behavior.
