McKenna has been getting a NHL contract when he really is not an NHL level goalie. I am sure he is quite happy to have hung on as long as he has this season.
Oof. Just checked his contract. Yeah 125K is not a great AHL salary!
With Demko most likely graduating here and our AHL veteran out with a torn Achilles I wonder if Canucks should just sign him to an extension for next year once he comes back to us. Give him a high AHL salary two way with slight NHL raise as well. Kulbakov isn’t even signed for us, has been up and down and MDP will be a pro rookie.

Just wait for the Flyers to waive McKenna. Besides Marky is good enough to continue playing for the next week, and if need be, Mikey can play a game and do decent.

I almost feel bad for McKenna at this point. He really shouldn’t have had to be put thru this. But yes I’m basically ok with waiting for you guys to just return our damn goalie!

He's a sub-AHL goalie making a NHL salary.... He's fine

Demko is back in a week. We’re fine.
How is Thatch doing? He is my favorite goalie prospect not with the CBJ. He seemed NHL ready imo towards the end of his college days I was surprised Markstrom was still the goalie to start the year and they hadnt moved on yet.

Why not grab Varlamov? We have cap space and he has one year left on his contract.
There might be something to it if some pieces were added on the side. Picks are not for grabs though. It'd have to be prospects/hockey trade.

Had like 2 or 3 minor injuries this season so far. Hopefully he can get in 5+ starts to close this season to get back on track

Even if it's a 5th next year for an AHL goalie, it's not a great look for the org to have a 19 year old rushed into the NHL

There are a plethora of unsigned goalies with NHL experience we can sign to a one year two way contract at league minimum and throw to the wolves until Demko is back. Leighton, Lindback, Pavlec, Mason, Lehtonen, or Berra are all goalies that could be had without surrendering an asset.

He’s been pretty good in the time he’s had. Small injury he’ll be back in about a week. Markstrom has been outstanding this season though.

I just remember after the draft seeing his college numbers and he had a stupid amount of shutouts and an amazing GAA if im remembering right.

i would like that what can we give for him
Right? Heck, put Demko back in Utica next year and keep Lu- Marky for a season, then it'll look copacetic.

I'm hoping Florida wants Bobrovsky, and they'll be looking to move Lu for a song. No idea what his value is though.
