If Nate and Kasper do well, with what we already have in Ed and Seider, and Cossa keeps it up...that's looking like a pretty good foundation for a team.
It's alright, Comparing the kids young is a little wild sure but Kaspers looking a lot like Greg Johnson(RIP) imo, and I've always compared Danielson's game to Vincent Trocheck. That's not bad middle guys, If Larkin can play at a high-level till, he's 38, I think you do have something working.

Like, it's still not real comparable to the Lighting with all they had, but it's for sure something to work with. Lighting were weird in that they hit on guys, but it wasn't always in the first round even.

I think it works as a reasonable core, but we will still be a work in progress. We will need to add more high-end skill on the wings for sure. I don't consider this bad because it is easier to find skilled wingers than skilled centers, but we do need to improve the overall skill level of the forward group.

FWIW I don't see the Trocheck comparison with Danielson. You are understating the impact of the size difference.

It's been a few years. Does Nate go #9 again in a redraft? Higher, lower?
I guess it's too early to tell. Had a couple of good preseason games last year but still has to prove himself at nhl level. At this point Nates career is still hard to predict.

Maybe he will get his shot with the wings soon enough. If they keep losing they should buyout/trade the vets and let the kids compete.

Teams cannot just simply buyout contracts at this point of the season, it's just not that simple.

You can waive players in the hope that someone takes the contract off of your hands. But, so many teams are up against the cap that hardly anyone can take on a contract of any real value.

And, if you don't want them, why does someone else?
