I wasn't able to catch it but what about the pk was what impressed? The added d? The forwards helping?

And the fact we scored our only goal shorthanded.

I think I'm getting a Dwyer away jersey.

I like our defense without Gleason/Komisarek.

I don't like our offense without Semin, Ruutu and Skinner.

I think we literally had more shots than the Sabres on their own power plays. The unit was moving well and they were successful in chipping the puck up ice for rushes, while still getting back safely.

That said, the Sabres PP unit seemed pretty neutered.

I'm wondering what we're going to do about that second line when some of our injured players get back. It sounds like Gerbe-J.Staal-Dwyer has a lot of chemistry.

It almost sounds like Gerbe is who we wish Skinner was. May not have the skill but has the hearts and hands that aren't total stone.

Gerbe definitely likes to shoot that's for sure.

Im really liking the addition of Hainsey more and more. He really is solid in our end.

I really like Gerbe. I hope what we saw last night wasn't just him going extra balls to the wall to stick it to Buffalo. What we saw from him last night was what JR spent years trying to convince us that Chad LaRose was.

From what we saw of him against Montreal (at least via stream) it was more of the same apparently. Gerbe was ****ing everywhere in that game. Sadly couldn't make it last night (didn't get out of work until an hour after I was scheduled to :shakehead) but it sounds like he had the same kind of game as he did in Montreal.

I suspect that this is Gerbe as advertised and it will continue. the guy has skill, is reported to be in great condition and *has* to play "balls to the wall" to make it in this league because of his size. actually if played with offensively skilled players instead of in a checking role that has been typical of his career, I think he may put up alot of points.
