The rare opportunity for me to see the Lightning in Orlando, but they put Dureau out there with Kucherov minutes.


Jaydon Dureau is basically just some guy on the Solar Bears. I didn't expect the crowd to pop for him being in the starting lineup, and they didn't. He also played better today than I've ever seen him play, so he deserved the minutes he was getting. It's not really a good thing for the rest of the guys when a so-so Solar Bear is the standout.

Groshev didn't show me much. It's cool to have watched him on YouTube while he was in Russia, where I was banging the drum a bit on him here early, and now to have seen him live, but I didn't see a compelling reason to have him in the NHL. He'd be a purely fourth line grinder (from the performance today).

I know the Lightning look at this board, and for the intermission tic-tac-toe. That's literally the best it's ever gone. It seems to me that the solution is to have the shooter personally place the token, but the team has also disagreed with me on many things.

I also believe I've found a new client (maybe several) for Adam Francilia.


edit: Dureau is like a 3rd liner in the ECHL. 44 pts in 70 games is 3rd liner numbers.

Groshev definitely had a dissapointing night based on his standards, a few too many turnovers and wasn't effective on the forecheck like he usually is. Despite the point totals I don't really think any of the prospects had a good game besides Huuhtanen, was definitely a weird game

It was a fun time, but when the goalies are letting everything in, it's tough to draw many conclusions.

The goal song is Vo Williams, btw. Thunder and Lightning. No Shazam needed on that one. I like the full version, but I couldn't recall exactly how the goal song goes, despite hearing it so many times. I'm not totally convinced they were using the exact same song every time.

It's a Vo Williams song. Let him cook. We can have a goal song with more lyrics.
