Russia can beat Canada, 3 things have to happen:

1. Russia must withstand the first 10 minutes pressure from Canada

2. PP must start to work

3. Bob must play the game of his life.

Yup. Or Price needs to have a poor game.

They may have been the best team at the tournament. Murray injures his hand decides to keep playing, lets in 4 goals on 4 shots. Team NA goes from undefeated to out of tournament.
Then they should have played better to secure their own way. Stop talking about NA team in Russia-Finland GDT.

Because then there's no advantage to winning the group. It's like having the first seed play the second seed in the first round of the NHL playoffs.

Basically what happened this past spring with Blues/Stars and Pens/Caps.

Russia has no chance but if:

4. They score first at least it will be a game for a few minutes.

Canada atleast in this tournament is a slow starter. The first 10-15 minutes are even before they start taking over. Russia needs a couple quick ones to win. Also, Russian coach needs to play their stars a lot more. This tactic might work against a bad Finnish team but not Canada.

Finland is collapsing....

Actually...this tournament as a whole has been pretty underwhelming. I have not seen Canada play but the only teams in the entire tournament that showed anything exciting to me have been the "gimmick"-teams...

Laine has been terrible

I just started watching, but you gotta cycle when your pressed like that. Peg will teach him the ropes, but it may be rough at the start. Wheeler should be a good mentor.

Laine has been terrible

Considering Laine is the youngest player in the tournament, he has been playing well. He can take the puck to the Offensive zone, hold it, make great passes. Some decisions are a bit bad though.

I don't blame Laine, he will shine in Winnipeg when he gets a bit more adjusted.

The Russian coach has to actually coach if they are to win. If Russia rolls 4 lines evenly and don't even try matchups, they'll never win.

The Russian coach is even worse than Torts. Was he politically selected or what?

Hahah, if anyone beats Canada, it's an upset. Those commentators :), they might get upset on Saturday.

Yeah, Laine has been hanging on to the puck too much at times. Easily fixed though, and I feel the general lack of success for the Finnish team is making him try too hard to do it all by himself. He can play a more well rounded offensive game when he is on. It might take some time for him to learn the NA playing style but the talent is there.
