Yeah that's what I think as well, not sure why everyone assumes it was a challenge. They were likely looking at the puck being propelled into the net by the player which is a ref/league thing and not a coaches challenge thing.

I think Torts challenged it just to delay the pace, if they win it they they stay even. If not he loses the time out but slows the momentum.
