Aaaah yes, because points is the only way to judge a players game.keep on being you.push that agenda.

He makes 7.6 million.

So Lundqvist's salary is a problem and Staal's, and Girardi's last season, but Nash's isn't because he's good defensively and looks like he's doing shit?

Its amazing how much slack some of you cut him. Why did AV take Kreider off PP1 and put Nash on it? Makes no sense to me.

Nash leads the team in chances... he’s there’s just not putting it in.. but on the PP he’s never been good. So idk AV gunna AV

All of a sudden point production is the definitive argument to a player's play and contribution?

Nash by design of the PP doesn't touch the puck very much. Never has. We could argue his usage but that's a different issue.

He hasn't made the PP but hasn't been a problem by any means.

So what about goals? Either one is fine by me. If he's a point producer, thats good enough. If he's a goal scorer, thats good enough. Right now, he's neither, and he was neither last season either. Nash's contribution is 3rd line offense and good defense, is that what we pay him 7.6 million for?

There is no good reason he's taken Kreider's spot on PP1. AV's rewarding Nash for underperformance.

Give me a break.people on this site shit on Nash as much as any other player.

That's on AV - not on Nash. A few years ago, everyone wanted to lynch Brian Boyle when Torts was the one playing the guy over his head.

It's a little different as everyone knows Nash's caplet is gone at the end of the season.

Also, it's not like his invisible out there, he's creating chances for himself and others that aren't being finished and is doing a good job on the PK. Could he be better? Sure. Should he be better? yeah you'd hope so but if he keeps generating these chances the points should come.

Thats what I mean.

Nash is a contributing player, he's not hurting the team, its that he doesn't play like we pay him to play.

I think that goes under the radar here. Some people notice it, and I'm not completely anti-Nash, I just think he doesn't contribute what should be his share.

I thought you said he's not even a top 9 player anymore. 3rd line offense and good defense is closer to 2nd line than 4th line.

I'd like to see Nash finish and put up points as well. The chances are only helpful in indirect ways unless he finishes. Over the course of a season though especially given how streaky he is, I'm confident he'll finish and put up the points. He's not a 1st line player anymore but he's comfortably in any middle 6 around the league.

Enough with the most dangerous forward for a 33 year old making 7.6 million. He's not an 18 or 19 year old like Chytil or Andersson who flashes are enough from, Nash is paid to score goals. He doesn't. He doesn't score points either.

Lundqvist is paid to make saves. He doesn't.

The difference between the two as that 1 is a UFA after this season. In a season where we have cap space already, it isn't that big of a deal.
