Only solace to Zibanejad playing like shit is that he's playing like shit before we give him a massive contract extension rather than after. Fingers crossed though that he returns to form sooner rather than later.

I’m down to sacrifice this season and for him to underperform so that we can sign him for like 6-7 mil at most. But of course, he needs to return to form eventually.

I remember a story about Joe Thronton in the locker room for Team Canada. They were preparing for a game against Sweden, and somebody asked him about throwing the puck into Douglas Murray's corner to wear him down (Sharks teammate). He said something like "Don't even bother. You won't wear him down. He might even like it."

Moral of the story, don't waste you energy to throw hard, risky hits on men who got that far by being stronger and tougher than the rest.
