Crosby is now the 7th player in NHL history to reach 850 primary points at even strength:

It's conceivable that he could end up as high as 4th place by the end of his current contract.

Now im curious how his EV numbers look during his prime compared to other all time greats. I imagine he'd be higher.
This is from overpass's spreadsheet (which has data for sixty years - 1960 to 2020):

Crosby is definitely one of the top 10 even-strength scorers in NHL history, and arguably top five.

Far too many post 1990 players on that list to treat it as being significant historically.

Crosby is definitely in the discussion for Top 5 best/greatest offensive players and loses no ground to any of his peers in terms of ES scoring vs. PP scoring or goalscoring vs. assists. He also arguably has the weakest set of linemates over his career in comparison to his peers and a definitive edge over some with his 2-way.
