I wish Getzlaf didn't have the knees and back of a 78 year old. When he was "healthy" he was still so good. Could sure use his leadership the last 3 seasons, because guys like Strome, Killorn and Gudas ain't the guys to show these young kids the way.

I'm sure he's a great guy in the locker room but as far as leading by example is concerned, Gudas has to be the worst captain in franchise history.

I'm a well known Killorn critic but Killorn's name shouldn't be in this post. If nothing else he's the one vet leading by example by busting his ass every night. I still have my criticisms with his puck management in the offensive zone but he's the last vet whose leadership should be questioned.

A lot of it seems to be mental for goalies, I think the trade provided a nice reset for him, went from an organization that gave up on him after previously expecting him to be the starter that got them to the next level to an organization that didn’t need him to be anything more than a third string

I have similar concerns about Mintyukovs skating. He’s not a dynamic skater and that’s a little worrying

Again, I wouldn’t trade any of them in the next 12 months. Like to see what they can do with a different coaching staff
