I agree with you. I'm not that interested in development until the culture changes.

Once that's done, development is what needs to take place. This team is in terrible shape. Probably the worst I've seen them since the lockout.

The old core is finished and Gorton failed to put together a new core. Drury is going to end up doing his own teardown.

Horrendous physical condition. Alarmingly so.

Idk take out Panarin and do we have a better forward group than the Ducks?

Right now, their coach is killing those kids development. Roster wise , even without Panarin, I think the Rangers have a better roster but not by much. They have one guy on pace for 60 points in Troy Terry and everyone else on pace for like mid 40 points or less. Not good!

I just hate hockey right now and think I need to miss some games for both clubs. Need to keep my sanity. lol

I do think their goaltending has been better than Mr. 11 million dollar man . It’s why they have not fallen to the rock bottom of the league. But goaltending is starting to get worn they give up the 2nd most SOG in the league. Guess what? Rangers give up the 3rd most. Not good.

Surely Hank never allowed a softy - that's why he has all these Vesina's :sarcasm:
Hank was, at worst, the 2nd best goalie in the league for like ten consecutive years. And I didn't even like building around Hank but at least you could say that.

Igor was the best goalie once, cashed in on it, and has been average every other season.

Laf was the only one creating any offense.

He didn’t make anything of his chances, but he had them.

Panarin was throwing the puck away pretty much any chance he had.
Laf didn’t create offense, it was created for him and he didn’t finish.

Kreider made 3 perfect passes that should have lead to goals, but some are gonna complain about his low assist totals.

On Igor's new contract that hasn't kicked in yet. If he's the best goalie in the league that kind of would justify it. It's subject matter that will play itself out in the future. Judging from this year it's worrisome but his current contract right now is in line with his performance on an underachieving team with a penchant for self destructing.

That said the first years of his contract is when it will be the highest % of the team's overall cap hit and the Rangers will have a lot of affordable first and second contracts filling out the team's depth. I suspect the Rangers will have a lot more cap space to work with come this July's free agency. I don't foresee our cap being a big issue unless we bring in a Rantanen or a Marner. If the Rangers move out Lindgren as I suspect and if they offload Kreider and Zibanejad without retaining or taking back high $ contracts we'll have even more space. As long as Igor gets his game back in order I'm not that concerned about his new deal.

Like a clock every season Lundqvist had a month to two month long periods of playing like an ass that still didn't take away from him being the best goalie overall during his career. If you don't remember ask @Kovalev27 or @SnowblindNYR

Igor is Price all over again. Inconsistent goalie overhyped by the media.

It was 15 games of shit for Igor it's at least 30 games of shit. Hank did self destruct in the playoffs more but I'm convinced Igor's playoff play is a sample size issue. Plus he does what he did yesterday every playoff and some people pretend he doesn't give up backbreaking softies at the worst time.

With the support of fake fans that use him as a way to shit on the team.

Zibs who has been playing better is having a crazy plus/minus year. -2 in a 3-2 game? -23 on the year when next closest guy (Laf -12) plays on a different line? Sometimes these minus games are deserved. Sometimes they are a fluke.

Speaking of Laf remember when he was going to be the guy. We need him to remember very soon ☺️
Trade his lazy ass to Ottawa and he can do laps on the Ottawa Canal all Winter long . He is not going to work out in NY especially with the likes of our current top 6 mix . It is simply not going to work.....

This dude's agent came out and said he wanted to reset the market for goalies.

Ok, reset my expectations for goalies like Esposito, Hasek, Roy, and Lundqvist did.

Anything short of generational is disappointing now. You said it, Igor. You signed up for it.

Shit locker room culture. That "me first" shit isnt acceptable in a room with strong leaders.

They did what they were supposed to do. They got two lottery picks.

They both f***ing bombed because the organization doesn't know what it's doing.

They have to figure it out before they think about any kind of timeline to move forward.

I don't trust them to not just f*** up Perreault now.

Well what is the organization supposed to do? Same fans that complained that Laf and Kakko were being taught defense at the expense of offense have been complaining Laf isn't good defensively.

I do not get what happened with. He played well last year and even better in the playoffs. He started the season strong. He got his new deal and then when in to one of the bigger slumps on this team.
