Smith definitely kicked it with his left foot, but it then deflects off his right foot, which doesn't kick at all.

What is the rule on that?

if thats the case then it would be no goal. would only count if he tapped it in with his skate even if it went in off an islander wouldn't have counted BUT not sure that first kick was intentional

Get a good coach who understands more than ceding the blue line and avoiding all physicality and this team would do damn good things this year. There's talent and effort here. If this year sucks we'll turn it around in a year or two

That's NOT a kicking motion. Lol I've played football (soccer) for ages, no way is that a kicking motion.

He draged his leg to reach the puck, trying to take the puck with him. As he's about to shoot Halak gets his skate out and hits Smith's stick. Due to that he can't shoot it...

I'm not surprised about the call but it's not a kicking motion. He dragged his foot/leg in order to get the puck with him as he was moving forward.

this game is gonna be a more frustrating loss than the pitt game

Some intern at the league office in Toronto just ended Alain Vigneault's career.
