Every player has a bad game, but McDonagh is one of the least flawed players I have ever seen, if that makes any sense.

Nah...I'd rather not see MacKinnon get that kind of opportunity. And, it was after the first Benoit goal, as well as the 2nd chance where he came flying up the wing. He probably got tired of seeing Av players darting into the offensive zone for scoring chances.
