Missed the last game, probably going to miss this one because of work. Hopefully I'm not disappointed when I check the score.

I doubt Cronin thinks mintyukov was playing awesome and removed him, he just didn't want to say that. Whether that makes it any better is up for debate.

The whole point of moving Dumo at the deadline (aside from asset collection) was to ensure Minty and Zell are in the lineup every night. I should not be seeing Kylington unless he’s an injury replacement

Wonder if we will see Luneau and Moore given opportunities for the last 5 games after this. Likely need to rest today due to AHL schedule but Wednesday we may see one in the line up.

Hopefully Trouba stays out lol, don't give Cronin the chance to scratch a kid playing well.

Feels like the bolded will happen soon. Verbeek's quoted at the Ducks' migration event as saying that he's probably gonna spend three weeks with San Diego (we're about to reach that timeline) and then he'd go from there, and the Gulls are all but mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. If I had to guess, he probably signs an ELC at some point this week and maybe gets in for the last couple games of the year.

Cronin loves himself some 4th liners and 7/8 dmen. He's salivated over these types numerous times in his 2 years as HC. I've always felt that coaches with a real affinity for borderline NHL talent probably aren't high-calibre coaches. It might sound kind of cutthroat but it's just something i've felt.

Just crazy to think Pat thought of him as being a good developmental coach. Have any of the players he coached in Avs org become good players?

I think in a vacuum, there's something to be said for taking one game to treat one of your players fairly even if everyone knows he's an expendable waiver wire guy.

Of course, this is not a vacuum (despite the fact that Cronin does suck). Not to mention, the previous time the Ducks played in Calgary this season, this same coach who wanted to be fair to Kylington refused to put Zellweger back in the lineup in his hometown after he'd been sitting for three or four games. So him wanting to be fair to guys all of a sudden rings awfully hollow.

Don't think it's cutthroat, it definitely checks out - he's an AHL coach and those guys are AHL players. More than anything you need grit to survive in the AHL and I bet that's still the #1 quality he looks for in players.

The opposite is why I think guys like Gretzky aren't good coaches, either.
