I don't think I've ever seen a situation where a player is made to suit up for the game, sit on the bench and not play. I'd fire Shaw right now for that. Why does a player need to be belittled and embarrassed like that? Is this Shaw trying to show who the boss is? They've been losing and I'm sure there is plenty of tension and frustration among the players. Here was an opportunity to reset and give everybody a clean slate to try and finish the season. What does he do, this nonsense. Apparently Shaw is as big of a jackass as Tortorella is

Friedman says - recording before the game - that York was being disciplined for team rules violation. Then mentioned (recording after) that he was on the bench and at one point didn’t even have a stick.

That may be what Friedman has been told but I call BS on that. Remember when Tortorella first got here and he had York sent down because he didn't like his personality? He was too laid back to too non confrontational? The kid was mild mannered now all of a sudden he violated a team rule that warranted not only not playing him but sitting him on the bench without playing? Nonsense. What most likely happened is that York tired of Tortorella's crap and told him to go pound sand. With all that we know about Tortorella and his pompous actions, who are we going to side with? I know where I stand. My gosh, what a horrendous hiring Tortorella was. I hope York tells the Flyers he wants out. Remember, if you don't want to be a Flyer. You won't be one.
