I agree. The question is how to you get that guy

My dream is Ehlers
We have the assets and money to make something happen. There's a significant defensive surplus I know people get mad at me for saying this but I don't have a problem testing the market on any of these guys minus Lacombe. He seems like the special one, I'm not saying to give anyone away but maybe there's another Drysdale/Gauthier type deal out there

I like seeing Mac around the crease. One thing noticeable now is anaheim have real size up front. I have been very critical of Verbeek and the coach but you do see an identity taking place in terms of roster build.
Yup - it feels kind feel like the dynamic has the potential to be reminiscent of the 2010s teams with size up front + mobile defense unit + good goaltending

I do wonder what the plan will be for Colangelo next year.

I mean Verbeek is on record saying he wants to add a top 6 wing. There’s just only so many spots in the top 9 though

Good to have depth though finally!
Maybe I'm crazy, but I see him being kept in the top 9 and potentially Killorn moved to a more hybrid 4th line but he plays up the line up when required too. Think that is a way to start to give the 4th line some identity and also manage Killorn's minutes given I'm not sure how sustainable it is for him to be playing 17 minutes a night when he turns 36 before next season starts.

Plus, we really need a 4th line that actually contributes compared to whatever the hell it does now.

Wouldn't kill us to do something like

Cutter-Leo-Top 6 add
Z-Mac-Sam
Vats-Stroke-Terry
Nester-Lundy-Killorn

Killorn is going to be 36 next year. Wouldn't hurt to pare down his minutes and run him as a pk specialist.

Then there is William Eklund with 54 points in 68 games.
Sharks are prob a year or 2 behind us in terms of rebuild... but got a nice core going.

Also have
Dickinson, Cheryshov, musty

Adding 1 of Shaefer, Misa or Martone this year.
- Extra 1st + 2 2nds
+ next year they have 2 1sts + 2 2nds.

I think we will be pushing for playoffs next year, i think the sharks will prob be where we are this year next year.

This is a great idea, but it requires a coaching staff that’s willing to reduce old veterans minutes when necessary to keep them fresh

They haven’t been willing to do that with Gudas, so I’m very skeptical they’ll do it next season with Killorn

Killorn, a defensive 4th line Center who can win draws, plus another physical winger that can play a little (sorry Johnston) would be good. Acquire a scorer and run 3 scoring lines could be fun. But you gotta give Coalangelo a shot to start the year. He deserves it.

Mac with a three point period there.

Ideally, sub Lundy and Strome …. Sign a middle 6 C to a 2 year overpay deal that is a face off ace. If one is out there. Lundy as 13th?

Agreed on that one.

I'm just hopeful that the organisation sees the need in the off-season, especially if they want to make the playoffs and actually go somewhat deep into them. Not going to manage that riding players in their mid 30's into the ground before you get there.

Ok wait hold on why does Mctavish look like he got a haircut recently. Am I going crazy? It feels like the curls are gone

Agreed.
They also got their own Zellweger in Cagnoni Luca Cagnoni - Stats, Contract, Salary & More
I think they need another Blue chip Dman but this is a Center heavy top 10 of draft because Cagnoni is only 5'9. Schaefer is exactly what they need.

Lundy can beat if for an acutal defensive center that can win a draw. Hes vanilla and doesnt really add anything IMO.
Agreed but we'll see if Pat goes out and gets one.

I feel like im in a weird spot... like i dont want to grab a top 6 guy just to grab 1.

If Gauthier/Zegras continue to look like top 6 guy.... and colangelo can continue to be a compliment goal scorer. We have some guys that prob need to get looks (Pasta/Nester/Sennecke) in the near future. Really right now i see

Gauthier Carlsson Terry
Zegras McTavish Colangelo
Vatrano Strome Killorn

That top 9 doesnt look that bad tbh... specially if the top 6 guys continue to light it up to end the season. At that point id want to find 4th line faceoff specialist... wouldnt mind seeing someting like

Ya theyd love to get Shaefer... that would would really give them 2 corner stones on the back end. Cagnoni has been a guy thats impressed me every time i seen him play.
