Let's grab that 40th win! For all the *****ing and moaning about this season, we'll be third in the East in wins should we win tmw. As far as I'm concerned, that's a pretty good indicator of playoff success (moreso than teams that rack up the overtime loss points).

Why can't we just stay on the road?

We decline home ice advantage.

Add that with Henrik's ceremony, our season is over.

Keep riding Hank. Id give Talbot a start on the west coast road trip, probably against Calgary. Then probably start Hank the rest of the way, unless were able to secure a playoff spot early.

I'm going to the game tomorrow, I'll assume the Hank ceremony will be at 7 and I won't have to come earlier, right?

I'm going at 6, as I usually do. I assume it will be at 7, and that the game will start slightly late. I can't imagine it'll be a big to do. Hank isn't really like that. Hoping to see Richter.

I would think Talbot gets the start, right?

Doubtful. AV seems to say Hank is the guy from here on out. Can't see him sitting, especially when it's not a back to back.

Halpern... Wish he was still on the Rangers team. Such a classy guy and solid center.

Good person, way past his usefulness. Would be great for Edmonton or the Islanders, for a contender, no. He was useless when he was here last year. Not to mention he's not better then anyone, including Dorsett.

Also coyotes are inconsistent one day their playoff contenders the next their a rebuilding team...they are the definition of the "wild card"spot

Hooray, another episode of the Mike Smith puckhandling extravaganza.

Knowing the mental state Henrik has to get in before a game, it almost seems unlikely that he would start a game where all the attention is on him, while on the ice right before a game.

If I was AV, I would give Talbot the start tonight.

Remember, Henrik is the type of guy that doesn't allow anyone to speak to him for hours before a game. Goaltenders have specific routines they do game in, game out. This ceremony would be severely breaking the routine he gets in.

I would start Talbot, and allow Hank to enjoy his moment, and be able to get a night of rest. Talbot is more than capable of grabbing us a win, and keep Hank rested and ready for Philly on Wednesday.

This is a playoff race. AV said and we all know, the Rangers will live and die by Henrik. If the ceremony is going to effect him that much, cancel it or do it after the game, if we win.

There's no way Talbot should be playing. Regardless of how impressive he has been this season.

Nevesis said start Talbot...

Im afraid

This is only because I know what it takes for a goaltender (especially Henrik personally) to get mentally prepared for a game.

It's a great gesture that MSG wants to honor Henrik, and they should…but I believe it can actually have an adverse effect on Henrik's game because he has to switch out of 'game mode' and have all the focus, attention on him, pose for photos, smile, etc.

A goaltender like him doesn't speak to anyone for hours before a game, has a whole routine that is followed the same way every single night. To uproot that, can negatively effect his game.

It's a RISK. Doesn't mean they can't win the game with him, but I would rather let Henrik enjoy the moment, without the added pressure of having to perform minutes after and having to adjust his entire mental state, and give Talbot the start and the time to prepare normally. 100% focus on the game.
