Meh... all I wanted from day one was to watch the Rangers and enjoy it. I never expected a playoff season given our division, youth and numerous question marks (wouldn’t have be surprised if they squeaked in, nor disappointed if they didn’t), so I don’t mind if they win or lose on any given night. What I mind is that, so far, the games haven’t been enjoyable. I figured it would be a rocky year with ups and downs but I hoped we’d win one 5-2, lose one 6-3, etc. and get moments of magic from Bread, Mika, Fox, ADA, hopefully Laf, a new and improved KK, flashes of brilliance from Shesty, etc.
There’s been a tiny, tiny bit of that in terms of KK looking better than last year, Shesty sometimes flashing his potential, Fox being Fox and Miller being a pleasant surprise, but overall the games are simply not enjoyable right now. Losing 5-3 in a game where Laf scored, Mika had a brilliant one-timer, the PP had a lot of great puck movement and the team competed hard is a lot more enjoyable than losing in the fashion we have so far, where very few even look engaged.
