Dammit.

Alright, I'll grab his potential linemate, Damn Steal.

FIFY :sarcasm:

Him and Kyrou are both steals that late IMO. It was Kyrou that DoingItCoolKiwi thought should have already been gone back at 5th overall(that was edited out of that post). I thought he would be long gone by my 2nd pick but I wanted the goalie far too much, and I got Adam Fox who I also had ranked in that same tier. I had Fox as my top ranked defenseman(though the top 10 or so were all very close) which is probably not going to be the case but I'm cool with getting him at 25.

Kinda out of sight out of mind with him plus it's hard to tell what Russia is going to do with their roster.

The Russia roster always gives me fits. Kostin in theory should be 0ne of their more important players as Svechnikov should be as well. But neither is 19 and Bragin always seems to rely on the 19 year olds more. So it's always a risk.

In regards to Russia, it's funny that I've watched that Canada/Russia series and seen them for six full games and yet still know so little about what they are going to do. I see I'm not alone on that. Even the posters on the actual Russian team thread aren't really throwing out roster predictions.

As for Jordan Kyrou, he was ranked second on my list. My second pick was 18th overall. To see him nabbed at 17th was.......so.......damn.......painful!

2nd?

I had him at 10(and Steel and, Fox just behind him), wanted to take that shot at 16 so badly but knew Gustavsson wouldn't get back to me. That 2nd group is so much weaker that I though Gustavsson will rack up the wins even if Sweden isn't as good as CAN/FIN/USA. And I didn't trust any of the remaining goalies whether because their team is weak or because I had no clue who they'd have as their starter.

But at least I know someone else had Tolvanen at #1 now. Getting your #1 and 2 at 3, and 18 would have been ridiculous.

Just goes to show how absolutely wide open it is this year compared to in years past where I had the 6th pick and a clear top 5 and knew there was no chance I'd get 1 of those guys

I was pretty shocked he wasn't a 1st rounder. I have been so impressed every time I have seen him that I think he is a good bet to be Canada's leading scorer

At least we can believe you now that you had him at 2nd now that you didn't get him. You totally would have sounded like Brian Burke saying they had Rielly at 1 if you said it after you got Kyrou at 18

Of all the things Burke said, many of which were dumb at the time and now, that one actually looks pretty good.

While on the topic of how wide open it is...

I had Kyrou at 14th...for forwards . Hope I am proven wrong, I just don't think ANY Canadians will be that high scoring.

Yeah, in hindsight it doesn't sound as crazy, he's the best player of that top 5 to this point. I still don't buy that Burke had him at 1 though

Since Laine isn't going I guess I'll have to go with the next best thing in Kristian Vesalainen
