Good win, but honestly not taking much away from it, if this is such an improved team from previous seasons with an improved coaching staff, these are the games they should be winning comfortably.

Nashville really f***ing blows as a hockey team.

Nashville is old and bad. No idea what their direction is supposed to be.
They really remind me of the tail end of the Ducks run 7 years ago. Instead of blowing it up, Nashville decided to sign expensive free agents to try and go for a run for 2 more seasons. Not looking pretty so far.

Learning the hard way that free agency isn't the way to build a hockey team. Enjoying the Preds demise.

Mctavish has had a really solid year all things considered.

Minty seems to have turned it up a bit of late as well.
The question is what player is he, if you take the away the first 2 months of the season he looks like a top line forward. The fact he matched last seasons point totals in two less games means he's been on fire for a long time now and may actually be a much better player than he was last season if he didn't start the year playing thru an injury and in a cold streak.

I agree. I thought he struggled earlier in the year, but it was nowhere near a level of play that would've warranted the amount of constant sharp criticism he was getting during and after every game - really a lot of guys were struggling and Mctavish was just one of them. He's played a lot better over the past couple months though along with a lot of other players. Zegras might be the only guy who has sort of looked the same all year.

Mac, Leo, and Cutter have all improved and taken strides after a slow start to the season.

Good sign for the youth. Hope they can continue to produce down the stretch and the Ducks end up above .500. I Could give a crap about draft position.

If we're to finish above .500, then we are dependent on our goalies putting up Vezina type performances to win games. For the past 11 games, we have only won games where our goalies put up a 0.943 Sv%. Our goalies put up great performances in game 61 (Gibby, Dostal combo) and game 65 (Husso), but came away with losses and no loser points. Both of those games the Ducks failed to give the goalies more goal support.

We have lost four games where we scored 3 or more goals, three of them in regulation. Prior to these last 11 games, the Ducks were 23-0-3 when scoring 3 or more goals. With these last 11 games, the Ducks are 3-3-1 when scoring 3 or more goals. If we convert those 3 losses into OTL's, then we'd have a record of 30-28-11 (71 pts) in 69 games. Which would give us a pts % of 0.514, an above .500 record today.

It is kinda baffling that we are scoring more, but losing more games and missing out on extra points. Maybe we are sacrificing defense for offense with this March stretch under Cronin.

If Mac can put an entire season together that's like the last 20~ games he's played, we have a star on our hands.

That's what we all thought in Mac's first 20 games last year: 10g + 11a = 21 pts and a -2 rating. Then he played through an injury and after four games, his body couldn't do it anymore. Later into the season, he was able to reproduce that ppg rate until he got injured again. He was injury riddled often last year.
