Who does everyone think is the better goalie Georgiev or Lundqvist?
I vote Lundqvist
If this horrendous game by Georgiev didn’t happen, I would say Georgiev without hesitation. But it did. I still think Georgiev has a slight edge on him, but in a few months, Georgiev will be better for sure imo. I would still keep Hank over him to mentor Igor, and let Georgiev attempt to be a starter elsewhere.

When you look at Kovy's NHL career and he has 443 goals, and Ovi has 700+. Holy shit.

I don’t buy that. Hank is ultra-competitive and lives for this. He’s also getting paid 8.5 mil a year. So I don’t buy the excuse that he’s rusty. I’ve seen goalies play better after longer breaks. The 3 goalie rotation isn’t ideal, but there’s a reason why Igor and Georgiev are getting more starts.
His competitiveness has nothing to do with rust. With him not seeing in game action and only seeing practice shots for an extended period of time being rusty in unavoidable. He went almost 4 full weeks without seeing any game time. There's not a goalie alive who's not going to be rusty in that scenario. Especially a goalie who has never really had a layoff outside of the offseason that long for his entire career. He's always been bad after long breaks and takes time to get back into it but it's different knowing you have time to feel out the rhythm and game to get back up to speed, the mental aspect is different in this case.

The way to get past it is to ease into the game, play a tight first period and hopefully feel the puck early so you can get a good feeling and ease into the game speed and start to get comfortable. What you don't want is to take a penalty 28 seconds into the game against a team with a PP that owns you.

I disagree on that one but whatever.

So both of you are just going to ignore the fact that Hank was the better goalie stat wise before this whole mess started?

Ok i guess.
