Was thinking something similar, but more along the lines of it seems like these players are more or less checked out and are ready for summer to start. It doesn't look like the kind of effort you would expect from players who still believe they have a chance to make the playoffs.

What will not be acceptable for me, going forward is if any young player is hit hard or cheaply. I will not be ok, with us not retaliating anymore. The “ you can’t take that retaliatory penalty we need the pp” is just straight pure bs. Playoff teams, ramp up their energy end of season. Means our guys will get hit harder and harder. And it’s just not ok to let the kids get hit. Or anyone really.
