They have lost 5 of 7 right?Apparently playing meaningful games means lose 5 of 7 in Old Cro’s language.
When montour was Zellwegers age montour had just been drafted and completed a half season of college hockey. Zellweger isn’t a physical monster but he is on a great trajectory and has already accomplished everything you could have wanted him to achieve to this point in his career. He is absolutely a breakout candidate with maturity and placed in a functioning system.Ideally Zel would be a 6'5 monster but he's not. He will either learn to play in a way that maximizes his good traits or he won't, in the meantime he's not utterly breaking the team. I'll puke if we trade another young defenseman and breaks out for someone else
He's young. And to be honest it's his size that's always will be a problem for him playing against big teams.Zelle was really bad tonight.
They fought though. Utah had a crazy amount of energy tonight, those guys were absolutely flying all over the ice.
Yep….. for the month of March. They have lost 5 of 7 right?
I was wondering if Cronin thought we were up one, not down one.Cronin loves watching him play soft passes through the middle of the ice leading to turnovers apparently.
I agree there. He's going through growing pains. But his size is his size..he's gotta become a smarter and faster player. This is a real risk, but not a certainty. Right now Zell is undersized and not performing well when pressured (perhaps because he's a bit concerned about being trucked). I suspect his poise will improve. The question is whether due to his size he's always going to be a defensive liability. If that's the case, he become a bottom pair offensive/power play specialist which still has some value (though not what we'd hoped).Until this season lacombe was compeltely lost. And he’s older, than all of them. That was my concern. I agree they need time. But zells size is an issue. Where as Solberg and lunuea seem primed to come in later on and thrive
Even if you've been hearing this your whole life, being undersized is often a disadvantage. Particularly as an NHL defensemen.Size isn't everything. If Luneau doesn't improve that part of his game, his skating isn't so incredible that it can compensate it.
Agree with what was posted above. The quick turn and playing at altitude is brutal challenge. They fought though. Utah had a crazy amount of energy tonight, those guys were absolutely flying all over the ice.
Lmao they are not buying out troubaTrouba is a prime candidate for a buyout in the off-season if we acquire a quality top 4 RHD. He's awful.
I'd much rather have Vaaks on the roster then Trouba.
Admittedly I may not know the other nhl teams personnel well enough. But are there more than 6-7 d men in the league zells size? I’m honestly asking
Ok but they’re the same age yet one is swagging out in the minors and the other has earned his way onto the nhl team in spite of his sizeI would put hard earned money on Luneau career over zell on just the pure size factor. Hope both can make great ducks
He seemed pretty good.40 shots against yikes. Hectic first start as a Duck for Husso.
They always look like that. That's what a young, *fit* team is supposed to look like... not whatever the hell we have, which is hilarious because Verbeek and Cronin clearly value fitness over almost everything else. They fought though. Utah had a crazy amount of energy tonight, those guys were absolutely flying all over the ice.

In short, there are quite a few. Many of them are quite good.
I must have missed the part where I said it isn't important at all. I've already outlined why Luneau isn't the slamdunk some seem to think purely because he's taller.Even if you've been hearing this your whole life, being undersized is often a disadvantage. Particularly as an NHL defensemen.
Goodwill from the Coyotes not having any true legends in their history. Even a guy like Keith Tkachuk had pedestrian numbers with the Yotes but he was ultimately remembered more for his time in St. Louis. Doan gets exalted because he's the most iconic Coyotes player who was with the team his entire career, including one season when they were the Winnipeg Jets.I’d like to know when Shane Doan became this great NHL legend. The guy was a good second line forward that played for ages.
For now, yup. Will be interesting to see what shakes outOk but they’re the same age yet one is swagging out in the minors and the other has earned his way onto the nhl team in spite of his size
The MoM coverage we play is super taxing - and was totally exacerbated by 2nd in two nights and playing at altitude. i think our D zone coverage is the main reason we have very little jump a lot of times despite having one of the youngest rosters in the league.
ImNext year we get Sennecke.. That right handed one timer is going to be crucial on the PP.. I have no doubt Sennecke will be our next Getzlaf.
