GDT: #61 ⋅ ANA @ VAN ⋅ 7:30 PM PST

The shooting chart is abysmal for us. Look at the High Danger Chances we allowed to Vancouver at 5v5 and allowed only two goals in.

Did you read my comments? I said he’s had a rough month via family issues. So I don’t blame him, but going forward you need your highest paid forward to score more. On an offensively starved team
Yeah i read your post complaining about him being a ghost and sleep walking for 10 games despite still putting up points. Just don’t understand why you’re contradicting yourself.

Eye test for me hasnt matched the point total. I wasn’t even aware he had that many points. But strome and vatrano been scoring for them. Sometimes you need your linemates to pick you up, and stromer and vatrano have which is nice

It shouldn't have been this close. Vancouver dominated and if it weren't for great goaltending, it would've been a blow out. This should tell PV that this team should not be buying. Hopefully Dumo increased his value with this game.

Then I think your eyes are biased to discount what Terry has been producing in the last 10 games with 2g + 5a = 7pts and a +6 rating. If all you're focusing on is goals, then you're not noticing the little things that end up being a goal.

Case in point, tonight's game, Colangelo's goal doesn't happen if LaCombe didn't spot Mac for a long cross-ice pass from the Dzone to the red line. Mac then curls and passes it to Cutter. Cutter then shoots at the net, where Colangelo is planted to tip it into the goal. By the time that happens, LaCombe and Gudas have switched out for Minty and Trouba. Minty and Trouba get the +1 rating just for stepping onto the ice, but LaCombe and Gudas don't even get recognition of a +1 or a point though they started the whole play.

Definitely could be the case. I like Terry a lot, but I think it’s a real problem going forward if he’s our best offensive player. He shoudnt have to be. Verbeek did try to sign stamkos and marchesault. So he’s clearly aware of this.

Lacombe took boxing lessons this summer, my gut tells me. He will be told, he can’t fight unless he Rips the opposing players helmet off first ( ie getzlaf and Perry who when they fought always made sure to do so) and he willl be told to throw those hands next timw
Someone comes at him like that if he wants too.

It's not a problem having Terry. It's a problem that he's our only top-6 forward, which many on this board have been saying for a long time. The rest of our forwards are 3rd or 4th liners at best. This year, Terry has improved his scoring rate back into the 0.80 range with a 0.82 ppg rate (45 points in 55 games). He was a 0.71 ppg rate forward last year. Kinda difficult to hate on Terry when he's leading the team in scoring by 9 points and has the 2nd most goals on the team with 17 goals (Vatrano has 18 goals).

Vatrano and Strome aren't defensive responsible players. Terry literally has to babysit them defensively in order to gain possession of the puck to get into the offensive zone.

We need more top-6 forwards and Verbeek has failed at supplying the Ducks with them. Strome and Vatrano were Verbeek's big signings. Then Killorn.

Guess we're waiting on our youth forwards to develop their offense. But Verbeek signed Cronin, who isn't good at teaching offensive schemes. I guess Verbeek is like Cronin such that Verbeek doesn't know how to land top-6 support forwards.

LaCombe was trying not to get pulled off the ice. Getting into a fight would have done that. To Vancouver, LaCombe is our most dangerous, offensive weapon and they wanted LaCombe out of the game. Unfortunately, Cronin didn't put LaCombe out on the 6v5 in the last 5 seconds of the game. Didn't matter since Mac lost the faceoff.

Beleive me, I know they were trying to pull him off the ice. But, next time. He may get the green light under a different circumstance.

And why are they so gassed on back to backs. Something is not right.
I agree. I don't understand how a young team looks gassed on a back to back. The bottom line is that the ducks are terribly inconsistent and I think a lot of that falls on the head coach's preparation of the team.
