Both Tampa and the Leafs have better records at home than away so hopefully this is a difference maker!

Congrats to matthews on 60. If he manages to have a big post season, there will be very few doubters left.

Notice how there's no sign of the two alleged die hard leaf fans, riffle and jgk or whatever, that la/toronto fan LOL. Mathews scores 60, huge franchise moment and they're nowhere to be found :( It's almost like they're not even real fans :sarcasm:
riffle has posted in this very thread:nod:

My main fear right now is that Tampa was awaken in the game they ran their score up. Also, generally having to progress out of the hardest division, then through the remainders of the rest of the hardest conference, to face the best team (*cough* Colorado) of the West. That's a hell of a path. Baby steps... win one series.
I think TB will wake up sooner or later, as I doubt they will be bad in the playoffs.
If Leafs want to win the Cup, they will have to beat teams like TB.

If only we could have drafted that Laine fella instead.

It's obvious we can win without Matthews, therefore we need a bigger difference maker in our line-up............ :sarcasm:

Nice to see Soup get the doughnut, Matthews get the 60 and Muzzin playing like Muzzin......

Now for the love of all things holy, sit Brodie out against the Bruins. We are going to need him, and he's been a machine thus far.

Great showing last night, pretty much saw everything you'd hope to see last night.

- Matthews w/ #60
- Campbell w/ the shutout (and looked good doing it)
- Defense was a whole was good
- Muzzin, who've I've been very critical of all season, had what I thought was one of his best games of the year. Obviously huge for us if he can play like his old self in the playoffs.

The only negative for me was Robertson, he continues to look overmatched and out of place. Hopefully it's just nerves or something but he really looks poor. I get it's small samples for him but typically you at least see flashes from young, talented players even if you can also see they aren't ready for the NHL, but he's not show much of anything. Pushed around, skating not up to par, I noticed him a few times trying to get 'lost' and find a place to get his shot off from but unable to find the soft spots in coverage. Perhaps I missed a shift or two but I can't recall a single notable play by him where he showed some of his skill.

Edit:
- One more positive, the special teams looked good.
Re: Robertson, I think we’re seeing a kid desperately trying to do too much. His brain is processing at breakneck speed because of desire, and his body can’t keep up with the many requests he’s asking of himself. His pent up desires are a bit like the teenage kid all worked up by the girl of his dreams and in the end in his rush to prove himself worthy, he prematurely sabotages his greatest hope. And, just like that young fella, Robertson is going to have to gain experience to complete the desired task. He’ll learn, oft times the tortoise beats the hare.
