I wish any one of these "insiders" who keep talking about Z not being a fit and is def gonna be traded would watch this team with and without Z. it's clear the team is just better with him in the lineup, even if he's not putting up points.
Z threw a good bump that started the scoring. I actually think the suspension was good for him as opponents know he’s learning to not be a pushover physically, which makes him better both offensively and defensively. Now he’s showing smart timely physicality.

I honestly don't think I've ever been as wrong about a player as I was for LaCombe. He's been nothing short of spectacular
Me too but he worked hard on his obvious weakness in college...getting stronger and more physical. Sky is the limit for him now.

He's a good defensive center who skates well. Look at his linemates - he's weighed down by the likes of Jonhston, Harkins, and other dreg.
Hes at 47% FO this year and has never been above 50% for a season in his career. IMO to truly be a good defensive Center, that has to improve first. He doesnt really do much even when he was moved up the lineup with better linemates. He doesnt do much for me as a player.

I like his mental fortitude. I thought he was broken at the WJC-20 after the Russian game, but the coaches kept him on as the 7th D and plugging him onto the ice after that game. It gave LaCombe confidence and that helped him take off in college that he could hang with the big boys in his sophomore season I've been on the LaCombe train that long ago.

Guess it was a bit of foreshadowing that LaCombe could overcome adversity. Knowing the Cronin overdid it with LaCombe last year and LaCombe seeking help on his own during the summer was just huge for LaCombe!

Ding ding ding

I’ll keep eating humble crow, happily on beevis
Don't feel bad...he was way too passive and lacking in physicality early in his college career. Didn't look like an NHL player. But credit to him for staying in college for 4 years and developing. Something to be said for not rushing these prospects into the AHL or NHL too soon.

What I’m not wrong about, is that our 4th line has to get completely redone. I’m liking the Gaucher pick, he sounds annd seems to be showing exactly what we need In a 4c. We need to bring in at least 1 proven 4th liner with size, some skill and mean to compliment him. I’m ok with the other player on that line being one of the young gulls who need a look. But verbeek needs to bring in that more proven guy to play with them… also I’m sorry, I’m keeping minty over zell when all said and done no doubt about it. I wish zell wasn’t so small, but he is.

Great game by the Ducks.

McTavish, Gauthier, Colangelo might be the start of something big.

Zegras may not be showing up much on the scoresheets, but he is bringing intangibles that seem to flow through the team.

Yes, we played very well, but the oilers played like moose poop.

Thanks, Ducks... you saved an otherwise depressing night.

I had an inkling that trio would be something as I shared . Cutter and Mac already had chemistry. Fabbri wasn't a great fit, but he is a high motor jitter bug at 5'11 and 185 lbs. Colangelo is a 6'2 and 205 lbs goal scorer who plays like a PF and crashes the net. Colangelo is a far better matchup with Cutter and Mac. One of Mac's goals came because of Colangelo's grinding and hands behind the net. Cutter is the speedster and perimeter sniper.

Here's what I wrote in the Roster Thread earlier in the day:
I actually don't mind it. Killorn and Cutter are our best defensive forwards. The top line will shield the youthful 3rd line, which has two rookies on it with Cutter and Colangelo. We may get lucky and this third line could be a thing. I know Cutter-Mac have chemistry. Colangelo and Cutter got instant friendship with their NHL experience last season. Let's see what happens with Colangelo on it.
