Evans if we can get a mutually agreeable deal that isn't the cap-rising UFA market premium he will get if he's focused on top dollar (which he probably should be given his age & career earning this far).

Then any one of Condotta, Savard or Armia if they accept a 1-2 year team friendly deal.

Dvorak & Pez I can't see any point in bringing back

Trade them all and get some assets. None of them moves the needle for this team. Savard should retire after this season.
I really like Evans, but you dont want to pay 2.5M to your 4C and we have Kapanen and Beck who can do the job. He deserves a good contract.

Like Evans at 2,5 for the 4th line. I like that we keep some guys that been draft and loyal to the club with the team. He's a good example for the next generation that will come, good veterans that play the game the right way.

Dont mind signing Condotta for Laval tho, and Pezz at minimum wage for 1 year dont hurt the team, he accept to be the extra attacker and can bring physicallity to the club.

The rest good bye

Maybe Evans, but if he leaves I wouldn't care.

Besides Condotta, they better look to move them before the TDL.

Evans is needed to bridge the gap to our younger centers. So it's logical we extend him as long as he doesn't ask for some crazy contract.

The others won't return much for us. Habs are not trending well enough for them to shine and look good (even Savard). Basically, we are looking at adding more 3rd rounders and B prospects which we are already loaded up on.

The key here is to free up cap so we can add a key player through UFA or trade.

Sure, if Evans wants to take a decent contract I'd extend him. But if he wants more money, then he can go. You can find his type of player in the offseason to fill the gap.

A 3rd rounder in my pocket to use is better than nothing. It's not impossible for a team to offer a 2nd rounder close to the deadline for some of these guys.

Evans is probably the only one. If he's traded and doesn't come back, I wouldn't mind either. If we can sign a tougher 4th liner, I would be all for it.

Evans is probably the only one that should stay, Savard is struggling to keep up with the pace and that wont get better, the rest will probably not get any offers and will end up in Europe.
Evans would be the only guy for me also...................the rest, see ya later. Get what picks you can for them, and then next year reconstruct the bottom 6 with new players, and unfortunately you have to mix in Gally and Anderson.
That said, Gally is currently having a good season.....credit where credit is due for him.. I just can't get by the crazy salary and cap hit there......

Anderson and Gallagher would be much better with a stronger center between them. We all know how tough it is to win without 3 good centers, we sat through it in the Bergevin years, but good wingers and weak center depth held us back from contending for a cup.

Probably only Evans if he accepts a fair salary. We will know before the deadline in his case. If not extended by the deadline, he will be traded for a late 2nd rounder.

Evans unless he prices himself out.

Condotta if he wants to continue being Laval's Captain.

Outside chance of Pezzetta if they aren't confident in finding an upgrade for the rough guy position.

Armia and Dvorak replaced internally by Demidov and Kapanen/Beck respectively.

Savard replaced by Mailloux/Reinbacher or a FA/trade.

I think at this point we were all hoping (HuGo included) that we could "afford" not to re-sign Evans. Sadly we still need him.

He's in yet another cold streak but I think we need veterans to PK in the next 2 years so I would like Yoel for say 2 years at under 2M, otherwise he can feel free to go to market and end up in Finland next September.

Every single other UFA should be disposed of within the limits of the CBA.

Honestly outside of Dvorak I could see a case for all the rest at least at the individual level being re-signed. But I doubt we actually do sign more then 1 or 2, and honestly 0 is a distinct possibility because it's not just do we want the player it's whether the player wants to sign for what we will offer.

I dont see how you can make a case for anybody but Evans and maybe Mazatta but there's better 13th forward vets out there imo..

Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
Dach-Laine-Demidov
Anderson-Evans-Gallagher
Roy-Kapanen-Heineman.

We have to keep some room. Roy will have two years of pro experience after this year and he is interesting enough as a prospect to give him a chance. He wont really benefit much form AHL TOI after this year. Same for Kapanen. At worse those guys are as good as Armia and this is the worst case scenario. And we have to try those guys before it's too late in 3 years we'll likely be trying to win it wont be time to try guys anymore.
