This year, Burns is playing like a limited minutes third pair guy.

Problem is you can’t swap him with walker or chatty because then the 2nd or 3rd pair would be as slow as dog manure.

We only have one fast d-man per pair and that’s an issue.

Losing both Skjei and Pesce has really hurt this team. We really, really needed to find a way to keep at least one, and I'm shocked that we couldn't figure out a way to do that.

But I think he really wants that ironman record, and 2 more years after this year gets him there, so I doubt he retires even if we do win the cup. I'm sure it bugs the hell out of somebody as totally dedicated to fitness as he is that a guy like Kessel has the title.
