I'm not going to compare Kakko to Lafreniere, but Kakko was having one of the best seasons EVER for an NHL draftee Finnish kid. Better than Laine, almost better than Barkov. Ahead of Rantanen and Aho for an example. Then he went out and dominated the national team, won 3 golds (u18, u20, whc) almost inside one calendar year. And he has been a shadow of himself in the Rangers. And while his 1st game as a Ranger looked great for Lafreniere, it hasn't been that great lately. This of cource goes for the whole team tonight...

I understand all that and STILL that’s how much better lafreniere was as a prospect coming in that he was considered way ahead of Hughes and kakko. This version? Unacceptable

Not a chance, my dude. If he stops, the net is no longer empty anyway. Only chance was for a quick shot and the pass was horrendous.

Kreider can't really pass, the play overall is fine and they actually sorta of give a shit the last few mins, the question is what the f*** is Panarin doing slowly gliding further away from the net and then shooting directly into the guy he let skate out to him

out of play is literally the best result there, that's a breakaway against a ton of the time

That’s my issue.

Maybe it’s the fluke my season and no TC for Laf too. I dunno.

But, I’m starting to think David Quinn is a problem here. It could also be the fact we don’t have the C depth needed. I don’t know.

It’s just disheartening that two guys with such pedigree seem to struggle. Maybe it’s age.
