With a schedule like this it will be really hard to go on a "run" (no weird west coast trip sweep, random Florida trip where they win a few, etc). Making up ground is next to impossible when they are playing the same teams over and over and the coach doesn't know what he's doing.

Some years back the Florida Panthers fired Gallant and took him out of the team bus and gave him his bags and left him in the parking lot. True story. He went on to be the first head coach of the VGK the following season and took them to the stanley cup.

Can the Rangers please fire Quinn and leave him in a parking lot? I’m pretty confident he won’t go on to coach another team to the Stanley Cup.

That’s one thing that’s interesting. The only rookies who have looked confident in the NHL under Quinn have been NCAA guys. Fox, Miller and Lindgren. Even Chytil took until this third year to start showing something. It’s interesting to note, though possibly meaningless. Does he trust/favor NCAA kids more and all of our kids from junior/Europe get their confidence wrecked?

Our division is the hardest and there is not a single cakewalk team save the Sabres and Devils and they are both faster and stronger than us. Not to mention way better coached. We have more talent than probably most teams in our division but it doesn't matter because we don't play like an NHL team with a system.

It's a bigger problem on the backcheck. Usually there's one guy supporting the D, and the other 2 are in Narnia and its easy zone entry after easy zone entry.

That’s a good point. It’s nice to see them killing penalties but it could definitely be hurting them at 5v5.
