Shouldn’t be forgotten that Mintyukov didn’t play against the Kings and the guy that replaced him was the main reason Ducks gave up the two goals that cost them the game.

Yeah needless to say if we still struggle to generate offensive chances and SOG against this team, any lingering excuses for this coaching staff are pretty much eviscerated.

By the way, I was just checking on defensive team stats and I know 5 games is a small sample but you'll never guess what team with a defense first (defense only) coach leads the league in most shots against per game. Spoiler alert, it's not San Jose.

Part of that is we are also by far the worst face off team in the league. If you start off with the puck 10% less than the next worst team, and about 30% less than the best, not a surprise you’re going to get caved in pretty regularly. It’s a real problem.

I’m sure someone here has already made this point but the futility on faceoffs seems like a big reason the PP is so bad. Basically a free clear for the pk every time
