WJC: 5th Annual WJC Pool - Final Standings in Post #270

Update after SF:

The gap stays at 2 after a fairly even split between my Swedes/Canadians and Lehner's Canadians. Meanwhile Ingram got pulled while Parsons got the win, if that ends up being the difference, ouch. However Lehner does have 3 more players playing tomorrow so still quite even in who might win. Statsy is 7 back but does have plenty of players playing tomorrow so it's still possible for a huge day to win. While he tries to fend off Paajarvi for Bronze.

As always, check to see if your points are correct. I've checked the 6 teams that are done now twice, and won't do so again, so if something changes or if there's anything wrong you'll have to let me know.

I'd put Lehner as a favorite right now, not gonna count Statsy out who has a bunch of players playing as well.

Doubt I'm catching anybody for gold or silver, but that Guryanov goal was huge to take back a point from Paajarvi18's Samsonov win. Yet I also badly needed Samsonov to win for my other pool. It was a conundrum.

Lehner officially wins. I can only get 2 points either from Stephens and Clague both getting points on the game winning goal or Parsons winning but obviously not both.

I'll be 2nd, and Statsy will be 3rd unless Zemgus gets 3 points on an American winner without Statsy's American's getting any

I also just want to lament my costly drafting mistake. I didn't take Oettinger because I liked him. I took him because I thought he was the US starter. Had I ended up with Parson's ten points instead of Oettinger's zero, I would've won this pool.

Nah, if you took Parsons it would have created a whole chain of unforeseen circumstances. I wouldn't have taken a goalie at that point and for sure would have taken taken Greenway or Guryanov and you would have picked some scrub instead of them and came up short anyway

More seriously, I don't think I would have taken a goalie at that point given I thought Parsons was their starter, but I have no idea who I would have taken. So yeah you may have won but possibly not
