Michkov was great
Tippett and Couts were excellent
EDM barely showed up except for spasms after the flyers scored goals.
Pelletier did nothing to look like a top 9 player (its only one game I know).
Cates got trapped in own zone for 3 minutes because culture
Risto good game and looks healthy for trade.
Ristolainen's underlying numbers were good but he was bad on two coverages leading to goals against. On the Draisaitl goal, he badly lost a puck battler and was poorly positioned. On the Ekholm goal, while Zamula, who got beat along the wall and Konecy puck watching and losing his point man to the net were the biggest culprits, Ristolainen allowed himself to lose inside positioning and was completely out of the play allowing an easy cross goal mouth pass. Typical Ristolainen. While the Flyers conservative defensive zone style and low zone collapse protects him, he is still poor in individual coverage.

At the start of the 23-24 season there were a lot of Oiler fans that were wondering if Bouchard was a bust. Then as the season went on it seemed like he improved. After watching him yesterday he looked worse than Drysdale. He was a turnover machine on the ice. if that is where his game truly is now, the Oilers are in trouble.

How many shots did Edmonton have in the third and how many high danger chances? Go count them, You'll only need one hand.

For a minute there I thought I watched a different game. That's what I saw too.

Came in here expecting to see comments about how much better the team played now that it wasn't injury-depleted ; and how Sam Ersson continues to build on his results (and the opportunity he had in the 4 Nations).

Thought there would be thousands of posts - mostly positive - instead of barely eight pages of mostly critical posts.

I don't understand why Homer and Bart didn't smile, laugh and sing along with everyone while sitting in a spaceship headed irreversibly straight into the Sun in one of the earlier episodes.

Tortorella's Stanley Cup ring will be old enough to legally drink in the US in a few months.

There was still an active player who played in the 1960s and the WHA during that season.

It has absolutely zero to do with his quality as a coach in 2025.

People used CD Walkman’s as an on the go option to listen to their music back then. The IPod has essentially come & gone since then to now being mostly replaced by music streaming services on people’s smartphones.

A decent amount of the players on the Flyers probably don’t even really know what the f*** a CD Walkman is.

The Ersson thing is probably the most interesting thing for me right now about them.

You go with him as the number one next season?

Briere has a choice to make there.

I think so. He’s been decent for the Flyers when he’s not being overworked. The more experience that he gets, the better his play should be. It’s what’s in front of him that puts him frequently in bad spots. If/when that settles down his game should elevate. Besides there’s no one better than him in the system right now and the FA goalie market is pretty thin. He’s the guy.

Ersson can be very good but I don't think he's a massive workload guy. Team needs a competent veteran back up that can handle 25-30 games. Not sure waiting for Kolosov to develop is the right idea. He might, but he might not.
Personally, I'd see if you could get Korpisalo out of Boston. He can be good at times and Boston might want to dump him since they are all in on Swayman.
