I forget who said it last thread, but to paraphrase, "this is why I can't get overly excited about any good stretch of hockey." We look like complete ass against a team coming off a B2B and that we're allegedly trying to catch for a playoff run.

I’m not sure verbeek would completely agree with that assessment though. But maybe he does, he needs to see what some of these guys can do in more than just a call up for a game or 2 basis. We have unlimited cap space. We need to fill our roster with more talent by next season. Part of that is seeing if any gulls are ready to make a step or if we just try and sign more proven guys

Vast majority of the young players are in their first AHL season. Pretty much Pasta, Gaucher, Nesterenko the only ones with NHL shots that aren't.

I can see a couple of late season call ups if the Gulls are out, I'd be surprised if we call up a bunch of them though. Also kind of defeats the purpose of acquiring Husso if you just rip out all the Gulls key players in a playoff push, you might as well have just stuck with Butyeyets in the Gulls goal.
